not to interrupt or anything... but how difficult of a process is it to cut open the headlight housing to paint the chrome?

it's not too bad...probably impossible without a heat gun or oven......just gotta heat up the silicone and cut it with a razor when it's hot. then put them back together with new silicone

When I cleared my GT tails way back in the day I was able to break the seal without heating them up. I did it on a warm summer day (about 80 degrees), sat outside and slowly and carefully pried them apart. Never tried the headlights though, but I'm just saying that the tails are possible without a heat gun or oven.

nice job on the headlights dude. when you get the housing apart does the outer casing separate from the reflective chrome part that the lights sit in? or did you have to tape off what you didnt want painted?

Your best bet is used. Or be like one of the other guys on here, buy the crystal housing, clear corners out right now, crack open the housing, and black out the housing yourself.

what if i cut the stock housing apart and painted the inner piece black like in the pic above. does the stock orange reflector come out where i could maybe paint it? or if it doesnt come out do you think it would look good with an overlay?
