Man those wheels are sick! Wish I was local! However, I do think they need a bigger tire or your car needs to be lowered and leveled to eliminate the fender gap. But otherwise they are sexxxiiiiiii!

Bad idea. 225/40 R18 is the size you need to run to maintain a similar aspect ratio of the stock wheels to keep the speedo right. Plus, if you did drop with with a bigger profile tire, you'd rub like mad.

Thanx for the info! Didnt know that. Maybe its just me, but I think there is alot of fender gap there. Would lowering springs work to eliminate that and still keep a decent ride? I would think that that low of a profile tire would make for a rough ride?

A low profile tire, like a 40 series, will harshen the ride a bit, that's a given. Lowering springs will also as well. But All the lowering springs out there will make a difference. Your best bet is either the H&R springs, Intrax or Eibach springs.

Thanks guys. I would be willing to ship but you would have to cover the cost of shipping. I can look into what it would cost if you are interested.

Lowering springs would definitely make a difference, but I was happy with how they looked regardless.

Man, I would but to get them over the border here would be insanely expensive! Maybe next time I'm down in the states I'll be able to catch a good deal from someone! But thanx though

Not entirely true. If you run the correct wheel, you can make it work. I ran 245/40/17's on Intrax springs for a while, never rubbed.

the difference here is 18" rim vs 17" that extra inch of rim Height makes all the difference.
You could run 245/40/18's with no rub, but your speedo would be 2.1 miles per hour off or 3.4KPH.

Really? You rubbed with a 45 profile on a 17"?

No, 17 vs 18 wouldn't matter one bit as long as the overall tire height was the same. A 245/40/17 tire is only .04" shorter overall than a 245/35/18 tire.... and both of those are actually shorter than the stock 225/50/16.

No, didn't rub one bit. This picture probably shows the overall tire size best (notice how much wider the tires are than the wheel):

I am thinking the only rubbing would be the tires to the fender outsides, or possibly on the strut, with too wide of a tire, though I am currently running 225/40/18 up front and 255/35/18 rear and I have no problem.

Probably would be the strut before anything, but it depends on the offset of the wheel. If its pushed way out, I suppose it could hit the fender.

Have you tried putting your 255's on the front?

No I suspect they would rub when turning.
