I lost the data from when I had 36 lb injectors installed, but I do know I had the IFR set much lower than 36, probably about 30-32. With 44-48 or so fuel pressure. I would start with stock MAF table and move the IFR to get the LTFTs in the ballpark first. I'll try to find my spark tables, but the needs for a turbo no doubt will be different.

I'll just repost this stuff from Aleromod, the tune I used last year, most of it is current. With your turbo setup, I would limit timing to 15 degrees at WOT to start out with, for safety:

I got more power when I went from 15 to 18 degrees at WOT (11-13 psi), but there were some days in the Summer when running in the heat, the PCM pulled it back a degree or two. I'll see if I can get a screenshot of the timing table I used.

Edit: I hope this is readable, here are the latest High and Low Octane Main spark tables I used. It's a bit aggressive, not holding anything back going for low E.T.

This is the scan graph of my best (E.T.) run :

The cursor line is set just before it hit third gear. I prefer that method of displaying data. You can easily see everything that went on during the run. There was 1.4 degrees of KR seen at the beginning of third gear.

This is the Table/Histogam/Gauge display. The interesting thing here is that the IAT temp (measured at intake manifold) was 88 degrees F. at that point, but out of the supercharger it reaches well over 200 degrees.

Note how quickly the Cylinder Airmass maximum scale reading of 0.92 is reached, exceeding the capability of the stock PCM, at about 10-12 psi boost. This could be potential trouble for a turbo or centrifugal SC setup running high boost. Suppose the actual grams/cylinder is 1.04, or 1.16........does the PCM only read and respond to the timing set at 0.92? If so, a lower timing than needed at that value must be used to allow for safety in the unscanned range above it.

My suggestion, as a person thats been in the turbo car industry for many a year, get the thing idling well then take it to a professional tuner. It sounds like you have a decent amount of coin wrapped up in this build. i would not try tuning this yourself if you are very green when it comes to tuning. i would hate to see you blow up a motor when you could have spent a few hundred dollars and a day on a dyno to get a really good tune. I am in dayton ohio (about 5-6 hours from Chi town) and have a very knowledgeable tuner i work with that charges very fair rates and uses one of the best dynos (DynoDynamics) for tuning.(No its not MilzyMotorsports... rather a old partner of mine that has tuned dozens of 400+hp turbo cars.) This type of tuning isnt just turning on and off things and adjusting a few fuel trims and values. you are going to be needing extensive AFR and timing adjustments, and knowing what to change and where to change is very crucial. Sure you can do it yourself and you might not blow the thing up , but you wont be getting your setups full potential.

they may specialize in it, but pretty much tuning is tuning. if you really want to go that route, talk to modern muscle in oswego. theyre on kendall pt dr. i talked to them right after i got my motor built and they said that they would do it. btw they use hp tuners. but tuning once you get the hang of it is really not that hard. just time consuming. its alot of trial and error

He is correct, a good tuner should be able to tune any engine, now getting used to all the diff tuning software is where alot of tuners will shy away from doing multiple diff makes because knowing 20 diff tuning software setups is overwhelming. You want to look for tuners that specialize in turbo or SC cars. NA tuners that have never touched a turbo car might not give you the best tune. ill check with the IL guys and see who all i know out there. what is your zipcode?

first off who are you to question me when every post I have seen from you is you either bashing, talking ish or questioning people? also if you weren't trying to bash you wouldn't have mentioned it

In any case I have tuned more Nbodies than I care to count and at least 14 of them were turbo and another 5 were supercharged.

I also daily drive a turbo 3400 powered Alero.

I find it funny how a guy with the name SLOW 240SX is on a grand am site questioning site sponsors and telling people how to do things... much???

my name is Jon, i have quite a resume... i dont own a GM FWD or 3400 car. I used to own a 240 before it was stolen and now im rebuilding another one. I build mainly Drift cars. I have been putting together turbo cars since 2002-2003 for fun. I have been in business since Jan 2005 as a turbo kit / car builder. I own a fabrication shop we build any thing and everything when it comes to cars. while i do not know much as a tuner i do employee a very good and knowledgeable one. he does all my tuning here at my shop as well as alot of electrical development and harness work.

i wasn't meaning to bash, i was asking out of curiosity. and i have hardly talked ****. I am feeling out this community and seeing who is who, and who knows what. i like to ask questions its how one can learn, and also how others can learn when maybe they did know there was a question they wanted to ask yet. I ask that of all tuners i come across i like to know the expertise of the people who are in the industry. I do not get offended when someone questions my fabrication work or if i have done certain things like chassis builds. Thats how a customer can learn about your skill set as well as another industry person can learn about a skill set. when i walk into another shop i always ask those types of questions, its a common ground to build conversations off of. i knew you would take it as a bash thats why i said i wasnt, because honestly i wanted to know if you have had much experience as a turbo tuner its a little different then NA tuning.
