My point is that spending 200-300 bucks is a safer better choice then having that pump fail and having to replace an entire engine and possibly the turbo when parts go spittting through it as your motor comes apart. if you are stupid enough to botch a fuel pump install then you shouldnt be any where a boosted car that is a project. unless you have the cash to pay to have it done and maintained. this doesnt just go for GA owners, it goes for owners of every make and model. i turn away work because the people just cant afford to do things correctly or refuse to because they are cheap asses. i do not want my name anywhere near the contraption they end up with.
You never answered the question....

Exactly which Walbro are you installing in a GrandAm?

WoW!!! 3 grand ams? or just plain cars?

i've said it before.....

show me

it just seems weird that there are so many milzy-built monsters out there, but i've never seen one. don't call me an A-hole for asking, i'd actually like to be proven wrong. i'd like to mimic this 300-fwhp success. so pleeze, prove me wrong.

i would be willing to bet that my car was easily 300 fwhp

i believe YOU. i don't doubt your setup at all. but your car was one of the few, right? to see 3 at the shop together, i think that is something i would have took a pic of.

here is a short list of currently quick n-bodies that lil ole me knows of. feel free to add names and i will edit, update the list.

aaron -we know he'll make 300+ whp, he's also cammed
derek -zukiracer
greg -alerob888, ice box intercooled
torre -eckoxl, just got his turbo in and tuning, has a cam
c boyd -3800sII, rear mount turbo
carlos -cmtampanes, another rear turbo
jason -xtremegagt00- turbo, cammed goodness stock fuel pump btw

of course there are others out there with potential, but of the quick list i made and the others that you know of, how many put down 300+ ?
it took a smaller pulley and a cam to get the m62 eaton kits to 300 fwhp

What they hell does it matter how many I've personally built? I've been running at these power levels in my car for years and have yet to have an issue with my pump. Very few owners on here have had issues with their pumps either. You can bench race theories all you want, but it's hard to argue with statistics and personal experience. Yeah, components don't last forever, and if I was building a car with a crapload of miles, I'd probably be replacing everything including the fuel pump. If I was building a car that was in decent shape though, and it exhibited no signs of problems, and I knew I wasn't planning on exceeding a power level that the stock pump is perfectly capable of handling... I wouldn't waste my money.

It was a rhetorical question. I know which ones can work.

I don't think the person that I asked knows, or you either, for that matter.
There are a lot of different Walbros, and in particular there was a bad manufacturing run for a certain model, and there are "adapter kits" out there that are inferior and unreliable..... Somebody that claims to install them every day would know that, and would know the part#'s from memory.

oh BTW I run a T/C'd and cammed 3400. Stock throttle body, Ported Heads, custom cam, ported intake manifolds, forged pistons (8:1CR), forged sbc rods and only 8psi.

Still need to hit the dyno and track with the new exhaust (installed 2 days ago) but the last time I was there I ran a 13.298 with full interior including sub and spare tire in the trunk. I also run a stock fuel pump with no issues to date and I daily drive the car.

That is pretty impressive for 8psi! I need to get track times on mine which is only 7psi. Too bad there are no open tracks around Memphis anymore

not even close, i am not milzy, nor do i work for milzy motorsports. I am my own entity. i have how ever been doing projects with milzy for a few years. I am not a GM FWD expert by any means, i reallydo not have much interest in them other then i happen to build parts for them. i do it because its my job as a fabricator, not because i eat and sleep them. my passion is in another motorsports and makes all together, while i to respect what this community is doing and wants to do as far as making them fast and boosted i my self will probably never build one personally unless its a customer paying me to build one.

I used to own one, but it was stolen over the winter. when i first made that Screen name for forums it was still 2002 and yes at that time it was slow. before i took the motor out of it to replace the HG and have the head rebuilt it was running 12.9's on 14-16psi with a so so tune. it should have been making more power it was only at 265-275hp. the turbo and fuel setup are actually good to well over 400hp. it just needed some more quality time with the dyno. See i got kind of distracted as it was track season and we were having events and practices every week so i ran the **** out of the car for three months untill i blew a HG when i ruptured a rad hose on the track and just kept going. the car was also wrecked once during the season it was time to retire the chassis any ways. This year ill be building another one for track duty and it will actually get the tune its needed.
