Agreed. Corvettes are good, but not of the likes of those other cars mentioned.

i dont need to watch road racing competitions, i know people who own them. if you look at any review, the only one that keeps up with lamborghini or ferrari is the ZR1, but it doesnt do it around corners, it does it in the straight aways, with brute force.

the other cars arent impressive. miata is an economy roadster. S2000 handles well, but has no power (ive driven them many times). Porsche...it depends. the boxter and older models arent impressive. the turbo and GT3, no way any corvette can keep up.

abused preowned base c5 vette is still better than a mitsu eclipse right? pretty sure everybody here would agree that vettes are great bang for buck. even for handling.
and since when were vipers ever worth a crap?

here's an old vette lover's joke. "what's the difference between a cactus and a dodge viper?"

"a cactus has pricks on the outside"

every time ive heard that joke it was about BMW owners.

BTW ive been looking at getting a viper SRT-10 lately. car isnt as bad as i thought, and lots of people think im a prick, so i guess its a fit.

S2000s are monsters boosted, friend boosted this with a precision turbo and had evans tuning tune it, put out 400whp with stock internals... name how many 4 cyl cars can do that :]

you're focking high. the engineering and handling of the 3rd gen RX7 were more ground breaking than the c5 (which, if you look at the c5 it actually stole many design features from the RX7

) Designed from the car that won the 24hr of LeMans, perfect 50/50 weight distribution, 2800lbs soaking wet with no carbon fiber or high priced composite materials.

If the c5 is an engineering marvel, why did it turn the Nürburgring at 8:40sec. with it being beaten by 41 seconds by the C6 Z51 and the 4300lbs. 2009 CTS-V at 7:59sec.?

a) im not gonna buy a dodge for over $100k. if i got one, it would be used with low miles.

b) 400 whp isnt anything special. 4 cyl or not, for a $30k car i wouldnt expect a 4 banger anyways.

c) C5 might be the best handling car youve driven, doesnt make it a marvel. who gave it the
