I dont want to open a can of worms here, but MMS' Grand Am was removed from a title due to weight reduction, and my runs are all in full stock trim, no reduction... dammit, as I write this I am reminded that I do in fact have "some" weight reduction done. I have a CF Tech carbon hood on the car. That did honestly shave a lot of weight. Then again, my larger wheels I would say make up the difference there though. I have gone from the 225/50/16 to a 235/45/17. That is a lot of centrifugal force added there!

Yeah, they've been ported a smidge.
I dunno....car's heavy with the big anti-roll bars and huge brakes.

That's not quite true. His car is not on the same list as others because it's not street legal. Not because of weight reduction. You can reduce weight. It's just gotta be a street legal "street driven" car. It's not fair to list a purpose built race car on the same list as everyone else.

hahaha weight reduction you forgot about the wheelie bar on the back. that car shouldn't even be mentioned in this as from the last time i saw it posted it was a purpose built race car.

i haven't been to the track yet but it's not like i could compare to a stock car anyway, the cam kind of kills that one.

Yea, 100% right. It was pretty crazy, and kinda fun when that went down though wasn't it? I have never seen so much "fire" in you guys. Look, we take this seriously and not-so-serious at the same time.... I HOPE!! I'm Canadian, and we(I) really don't take this stuff to serious. I have a gut feeling that Aaron would love to meet me just to put his hands around my neck... well, maybe an attempt anyway right Aaron... hahahahaha
I do love that the passion remains with the group, and this WOT and MMS stuff is pretty cool to be in the middle of actually.
Side note guys... WOT Stage III went 13.2 at 108 I think it was, NICE WORK GUYS! I wish I could have gone stage III. I would have, but the car would have to have the plates taken off to do that here. I am as big as I can go and still be legal, so I guess the title now goes to WOT until someone that is not limited by emissions can go Stage III with MMS and see how we fair there.
So MIke... if you pass by here... any Stage III coming that you know of? .... LOL
Have a good day guys and keep the shiny side up!

Got a link? This is an N body?

The name looks like a customer of mine but the description of parts isn't the same as what I call them.

damn thats a hell of alot of money to spend to run a 13.2... should have just turbo charged a stock engine.

Uh, why should I care? This is just the internet after all, and I personally have no vested interest in either company. All I have is my opinion on who makes better parts and that's it.

Not really considering the time and comparing it to the previous NA record and what these cars typically run stock in NA form. And it's not like turbocharging these cars is that easy either. Since no one makes a kit and it was never designed for boost from the factory, there are quite a lot of modifications needed to run boost safely and properly. Most people cheap out on the parts and construction trying to build an affordable kit and then end up being unreliable and selling everything before they even get any results... because they didn't spend the time/money to design it properly with good parts.

My point is a turbo on these cars that will be any good will still end up costing more than an NA build.
