i also live in the "salt belt" and like the fact that it stainless Any good muffler shop can make you a down pipe if you dont get the downpipe from them u still get the rest of the v-band clamp to make your own at least thats my understanding

are you a college student paying 80-90 grand a year?

It doesn't make sense to me to pay for a stainless downpipe when what it is connecting to isn't stainless, I could just paint them both, and the Monte will never see salt again.

Stainless for headers is a lot more expensive than stainless for a downpipe. I made my own DP out of stainless and it was cheap. And I didn't have to coat it, and it's more durable than mild steel. The headers will be ceramic coated so you don't have to worry about them rusting. The DP is closer to the ground and takes a lot more abuse from road debris and spray, and coatings or paint are likely to get scratched or chipped and then it will rust again.

I think you may have misread the email or misinterpreted it. the headers were scheduled to go to coating on friday, but i had some huge problems with a race car i was prepping for a event on the 15th earlier in the week last week and it took a good part of my week to sort out. its actually still sitting unfinished due to problems out of my hands with parts.
any how it threw me off schedule for the headers, combine that issue with a new order coming in at about the same time we now have 4 sets going to coating We did not want to complete three sets and have to send a single set out to coat, its not cost or time effective. I am just about done with the fabrication of all the sets. tomorrow i have to bust ass on all the finish welding and some final fitment checks.
we are looking at a tentative shipping date of wensday-friday for them to leave our shop and head to the coaters. this is putting us a few days behind our ideal schedule and i felt i should stop over and keep everyone updated on what is happening. Mike is emailing everyone to give them a heads up so those of you with orders in should be seeing an email from him tonight or tomorrow. As it stands anyone who orders from today on will be in the next batch of orders we wont be holding up this batch to fit another one in. we are already almost out of materials for runners because i also had two sets of 3800 Wbody headers to build that we did not expect or plan for.

if you guys want i can snap some progress pictures for you, ill try to remember to upload a couple photos of the build progression

thanks for everyones patience! if anyone has questions feel free to PM me or call mike.

Jon

I had a whole long post typed out and it was erased because it logged me out and threw it all away. now i have the remember me option checked....

cliff notes

its been a few weeks. hired an old employee back to take my shops workload on a few weeks ago, hes taking care of my stuff so i could spend more time on fab work for Milzy, i still lose a few hours a day to taking care of my shops clients and sales, but not as much as before.

i had to re fixture a few parts to these headers due to getting in a diff batch of collectors and bends, new fixtures will work with any collector with small variances in dimensions.

front and rears are done and welded they just need to be cleaned up and ready to goto the coaters.

the crossovers are ready to get welded up and then everything will be ready to ship out to coating. Things are taking a bit longer then i expected but its nearly all done.

here are some pictures of the completed fronts and rears.

sorry for the Iphone photos cant find my nice digital anywhere around here.

Jon
