So I had a thought, since the inner turn area is all black I'm worried about the turn signal not being bright enough day/night.

opinions on if I mounted a side facing amber LED flex strip under the light between the two tabs, then wired it to the inner turn bulb???? (see pic for tabs and placement)

Im confused as to what you are saying by between the two tabs? But if you get an LED tower bulb then there shouldnt be a problem since theres a few LEDs at the end too.

I think He is thinking to do a R8 style. By putting a LED bar on the bottom of the headlight. Am I correct Jim???

this is just a scrap i had laying around....but gives good idea. strip will be longer, and LED will emmit the light out the side not the top

if you look back at the pic of heads still in one piece you can barely see the gap the light would come from.

also I already have the LED swicthback signal bulbs, but seeing as the area all black it may not shine bright enough to be seen

well got pics of the white ring lit, and then the green.
the white is super bright because of how its placed more centered in the plastic halo part....the green not so much cause more in the inner edge
only got the one light....silicone is still drying on the other side, but you get the idea

Wow those whites are awesome!

I have had bad luck with the quality of the SMD strips.
I have over 10' of blue 50/50 SMD and half if it had shorted.
Just be careful with the finicky things.

I thought about that when doing my retrofit but then decided that with all the newer aftermarket lights for other cars having them that its going to get played out. Besides it only looks good when done right on the Audi's and other luxury cars.

well they'd only be on for turn signal and nothing else, also the strip would be hidden so you'd just see the glow when flashing

its a thought I might mess with

heres a better pic to show the little gap where the light would come from

heres a green flex strip I taped in place to give general idea.....note this strip the light is emmited down, ideally I would have side emmiting Amber LED

and then with no lense

So if you use that as your inner turn signal then what would you do with that empty spot?

I would use both. the strip would be wired to flash with the inner turn bulb.
but after seeing it not sure how I'm "feeling" it

i think it would be cool if you had it below the turn signal area in amber. maybe have it wrap up a tiny bit too
