yes, but for that stuff they make stuff to do that properly. a product by DEI called cool tube, and there is also standard fire sleeve hose coverings that can be bought at most industrial hose suppliers or industrial supply houses. header wrap is just ugly and doesn't even perform that great. there are better options out there for heat management.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the grand am headers should fit the monte's from what i hear with minimal mods. or at least i think that's what mike said in an email. those were coated by a company that mike sent them to before shipping from what I understand. I'm not trying to be a **** and say that those are an example of all of mike's work, i was just curious about any flaws that may be worked out in future sets if i do decide to get them. still no install pics either? I'd be interested in some of those builds also with the people waiting to put them on

the front header would fit, the only diff in the monte front header is that one runner has to avoid an engine mount that the ga's do not have. the rear headers however are different and i do believe the collector angle is diff as well as the placement so that it probably would not fit the GA's

I did and had enough BALLS , this guy has been on 60degreev6 stating that no one that has bought them stepped up and proved anything to him, He wants dyno results , before and after install , in depth pics and install instructions etc to make it worth his purchase . These headers are as stated earlier a niche/rare thing anymore its either you want them or you dont they will be an improvement no matter what you do it all depends on what type of build your planning so get these , pacesetters, or wait for Bens headers

I find it hard to purchase many things from Milzy because there are no results of anything there. does this mean that Mike doesn't make good products, absolutely not, but if Ben were to make headers I would imagine he would have some data behind them to support the sale. I never asked for install instructions or before and after installs, in depth pics, i asked if anyone has installed and had any problems or pics, so for you to bring that up just shows that you like or over exaggerate things like some of the other people on here. The best companies in the world have issues with there products, so it's not wrong for someone to wonder about possible flaws. Excuse me for not wanting to purchase a product that could be upgraded in a couple of months. Wasn't it already announced that there were issues with the first batch? |

the only way you could upgrade the NA headers is to purchase the rear header and crossover setup to change it into a turbo setup. the front headers are the same as the turbo headers. i would imagine ben and john over there wont waste they energy on building headers. there is just not the profit and sales there for them to put their focus on it when they are making money in other markets and on other more profitable products. milzy just happens to have me around and i can make multiple products for multiple cars and do it all on my own while he continues to do his in house stuff. its kind of hurting my core market by taking my time away from that development , but during the season its slow because race cars are on the track, this off season will be a little more harry because the race cars have to all be re built and that means i get to build them fun!!

The people who were installing them have kind of fallen off the map. Andrew should be done by now.

They won't have any more flaws than any other set of headers. If there was any fitment or interference problem it would probably be from something that you changed on the setup in your car. You don't just design a set of headers on an engine on a stand and call 'em done. They have to be test fit in a car and adjustments made. I'm sure Milzy has installed them in a complete car. As for waiting to see flaws fixed in future batches... good luck. If people don't buy the ones they have made now, no more will get made. It's too much of a specialty product. You should just be happy you can get them at all, since all the previous major manufacturers are gone now. And the headers from those companies made major gains on the dyno, so I see no reason why these wouldn't. You want before and after dyno's? Buy them and do it yourself.Either you want them or you don't. It's that simple. If you aren't willing to spend the money, well... that's your decision. You take risks with ANY aftermarket product or modification, and especially with an unpopular car like this. If you want all kinds of testing and tons of customer feed back and a cheaper price.... buy a civic! Or a mustang, or a camaro, etc etc etc....

honestly i have made so many headers for diff GM fwd vehicles this year i forget which down pipes get what o2s and which headers get which o2s i have to make a note on my fixtures so that if i dont make a certain header or down pipe for almost a year i can just read the fixture and remember. as it is we have a room full of fixtures and jigs for so many diff products. you never realize the ammount of space you need just for your fixtures! aaron is correct, we have designed and test fitted these on complete cars, as well as i test fit them on a half cut car. we have a Apillar front cut of a N body that has almost every part in the engine bay still intact for test fitting and design work. we also have a w body monte and a 05 imapa front cut. right now i am actually working on the 02 montecarlo 3.8 supercharged car that we is getting converted to a turbo setup that the power goal is 550-600hp. grand am headers will probably not be going back into production again until there is another demand for 2-4 orders. it is just not worth making them one or two at a time with out a customer for them. anyone interested in a set of pacesetters can also PM me because i know mike is about to put in a order for another project here. so i am going to try and talk him into rolling the profit from that order into shelf stocking at least 2 sets for the GA. while i will tell you point blank its an inferior product i have no qualms about providing you with avcess to the budget product and making a buck off you at the same time. after all we are all in business to put food on our plates and to continue building cars for fun and money. seriously you cant afford milzy headers and want to get pace setters PM me and ill see about getting mike to put together that order.

Thanks guys I appreciate the similar feedback and hopefully it puts the issue to rest. And seroiusly look at any horsepower upgrade either high compression or boost a grand is nothing if your going to do all you can to make it the best you can.

why doesn't mike have any of the pictures posted from the install on a complete car then, i think it would look better on the page with a complete or more finished looking engine

because we don't have a complete car here to put them on. and no one local has purchased headers. what part of i have a front cut of a grand am do you not under stand? as in we had the car cut apart from the dashboard to the front bumper and mounted it on casters to move around the fabrication area so that i can put it on the lift and work under it, or i can move it over to my tig welder to do tack welding and fixture building. i have fixtures on it to mimic the stock cat back locations as well as other many other fixtures that we use to make the various parts he sells for the grand ams. all the fixtures were built off finalized prototypes that were test fitted on our mock up car which is like a 90% complete car under the hood. i think the only thing we do not have where they normally go are the BCM, fuel lines, and heater hoses, but those i can visualize and know to avoid them. Mike will not put a set of coated headers on a car here just to snap pictures and risk scratching up all the coating. I know because i have a set of headers i was putting back on the mock up car to see how final install would be and i scratched them up pretty good. install is kind of a PITA i wont lie to you about that... i did not take pictures because honestly i leave my camera in my office and often forget to photograph my work. the only time i really do that is when my iphone camera was still working.
