I did the rear bar but had somebody with a lift do the front bar. I found the rear to even be a PITA..can't imagine doing the front one on the ground. A lift is much like a hammer or screwdriver in that its a proper tool for certain jobs and NOT using one just causes more frustration than its worth IMO.

I highly recommend removing the steering shaft from the power steering rack and steering wheel before dropping the subframe. If you drop it too far, the steering shaft will separate and it will be damn near impossible to get it back on straight.

Well the engine is out of my car so I have a lot less weight sitting on the subframe to deal with if I do need to drop it a little.
I was looking under the car tonight and it just might be possible to slide the front sway bar out if I can get the bracket bolts out. Has anyone actually tried doing that? |

I got my bars Tuesday also. Now I need to get my other subframe sand blasted and a couple coats of POR-15. Anyone replace the bushings in their subframe ? Any poly alternative ?

There are no sub-frame bushings dude. It's a straight bolt on affair.

![]() I was going to ask you if csx has special training on how to disable a epd with welding rods and duct tape? Just got a csx lease sd40 that suffered unmentionable abuse. I guess when the rod got spit out of the side of the block the crew forgot to remove the evidence... ![]() Last edited by locoman99; 05-17-2012 at 06:32 PM. |

PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!
Everyone who bought new swaybars - Please be careful! These bars will drastically alter the handling of the car. It's very neutral, but if you overcook a corner the back-end will come around on you. It's fine if you are prepared for it, but I don't want anyone wrecking driving like a hooligan in an uncontrolled setting.

Isn't that the whole point of this? That being said I think Matt is saying that the improvement is enough that you're able to whip out the rear end.

Ok one question for you guys, I looked at the group buy page and I believe the bushings they supply are poly but can anyone confirm it?
And would the energy suspension bushings be better? For the front especially I would hate to need to redo it.

The bushings supplied are indeed polyurethane bushings...made specifically for the rear bar by Energy Suspension.

Ok put the sway bars on let me say that front one really is a bitch, in my garage on jackstands.
I knew it would be as I replaced the steering rack a few months ago and I wish I had the bar at that time.
