Auto Trend, also known as Group-A Wheels. Ever heard of the Scarallos? They're my employers, they've raced in many SCCA championships, including F2000, Trans Am, Speed GT World Challenge and the Atlantic series.

Want the number? I can assure you that I'll make you look stupid.

So many assumptions. It's a small crew, I don't JUST work on the race cars, there's a huge warehouse filled with both cars for sale, and the Scarallos' personal vehicles and collector cars. I maintain them, fix them, detail them, modify them when I'm not helping with the F2000 cars. Even then, Joe Scarallo Sr has his one race mechanic for the F2000 car, the others they've maintained, financed, fix and run themselves. Considering the amounts of responsibilities I have outside of "mounting tires", I'm plenty busy and paid damn nicely.

But of course, I forgot. Just because you're old and play with trains somehow makes you better than everyone else. You can kindly fock off.

Wasnt an assumption...you said you were a member of a raceteam...now u are backpeddling and howhowing about somebody else and saying you are a special go-fer now because, again, you cant back up your claim.

So this guy lets you "detail" (wash) his cars...and lets you "modify" them too? I guess turnig a dirty car into a clean one is a modifcation....

Unfortunately in this case, I actually agree with loco. You guys got your terminology wrong. I'm sure fabs was simply typing fast and used the wrong word. Probably was thinking of a ratchet and called it a socket wrench.

It's technically called a ratchet wrench. You put a socket on the end of it. You can also use a breaker bar with a socket. You can break the square drive on either of them if you are using the wrong size. IE if you are trying to break loose a rusted 15mm nut with a 1/4" drive, or trying to take off a 22mm axle nut with a 3/8" drive. You need to 1/2" or bigger for that stuff. A cheap ratchet might break as well, but typically if it's a good brand it won't break if you are using the correct size. The ratchet mechanism is usually pretty strong and the drive will shear first.

Not calling you wrong, Aaron, but I've heard it both ways. Doesn't "ratchet" technically refer to the mechanism in the socket wrench (or other devices)?

From Merriam-Webster:

Socket wrench noun

Definition of SOCKET WRENCH
: a wrench usually in the form of a bar and removable socket made to fit a bolt or nut

Ratchet noun

Definition of RATCHET

: a mechanism that consists of a bar or wheel having inclined teeth into which a pawl drops so that motion can be imparted to the wheel or bar, governed, or prevented and that is used in a hand tool (as a wrench or screwdriver) to allow effective motion in one direction only

Either way, I'd much rather use my relatively inexpensive breaker bar than risk breaking one of my ratchets/socket wrenches.

I have never even heard of merriam webster tools before.......but my snap on catalog calls them ratchets. And the shiny little cylinders are called sockets

a good half inch ratchet can take 200 ft\lbs day in and day out. More than you ladies can put to it.

Every one and every place I've ever seen has called them ratchets. You could call a breaker bar a socket wrench, but that definitely doesn't say anything about having a ratchet mechanism. Hence if it doesn't have a ratchet mechanism, it's a socket wrench (and/or breaker bar)... if it ratchets... it's a ratchet.

Ps. as retarded and childish as it is, I can't help but laugh at the thread tags. I wonder what other ones I'd find if I did a thread tag search for "loco"? I may have to try and see what comes up.
