From my own experience, do it. It mellows it out...but gives you a much deeper growl while ridding the rasp.

I may look into that route then. Any particular brand? I'd like to not have a bright ass red one .

I have a cherry bomb, if there's any Car Quests around by you, they can order raw glasspacks (unpainted)

There use to be but I'd have to look. I think they closed or maybe moved even. We have an Autozone, NAPA, Orielly's, and one other I think. Unpainted or a darker color is how I'd like to go.

NAPA may be able to get them, Autozones and similar stores don't order them.

Only problem with glasspacks is they tend to get louder as the packing gets old and blows out. If you wont to go cheap i guess it will work..but not as good as real resonator.

I just want to have something that works . The most cost effective one that works good wins.

Then i wouldnt be too worried about the color..you can use some hightemp paint on the cherrybombs.
I had a pair of them on a truck and they seemed to be pretty well built.
