Well I know it's been a while since I posted about the build but it is coming together. Milzy is custom making my downpipe as we speak. The Wastegate will be dumped back into the exhaust so I am not running a open dump. I have picked up a bunch of followers toys for this build and almost have everything I need. Once Milzy gets my downpipe done and back to me I will start to get cracking and posting some progress and pics. I talked to him Friday and he's hoping for this week but no later then next to get the downpipe done.

I understand your concerns and I have the same. But I have talked it over with Mike quite a bit and a decision was made that we both could agree on. Putting together a turbo build is not easy nor is it cheap if it's done right. I have spared no expense and it is what it is. This will get done.

Well I heard back from Mike yesterday about the downpipe. The price to have it built was a little more then I was expecting but was not really surprised. It is going to cost $600 to have everything done and he told me it will fit like a glove and it will be very tight and done correctly. I understand the price because it is a one off and there is not another one like it. I sure cant wait to get it and see the work that went into making it. I know a lot of you will say that is way to much but he knows what he is doing and I know I will get a quality product from him. So I am hoping to have this all done before the bad weather hits so I can at least drive it before winter. I have spent a lot of time and money to make this work and cant wait to be able to drive the finished product and to know I am one of few people that have built a turbo GA and built it by not throwing cheap parts on it just to make it work.

After building a downpipe for my car myself twice, I would charge someone twice that.

That's why I decided to let Mike go ahead and make it even though of the cost. I could have made it here but its to important of a part to get anything wrong. I know too that it will be done perfectly. Shouldn't be more then a few days and it will be on its way back to me.

Well talked to Mike today and the downpipe is done and if everything goes well in shipping I will have it Saturday. He said it came out really good and I should be very happy with the results. Once I get my stuff I will post pictures of the work he did. They put a lot of time into it so I am looking forward to seeing my stuff.

Well here is the downpipe. The wastegate was set up to dump back into the exhaust and I had a wideband O2 bung added as well as the primary O2 bung that's already installed on it. This thing on mock up fits like a glove. I'm very happy with the work that Mike did to get this thing done.

Got the wideband mounted and partially wired up today. I have to install eveything else then figure out how I am going to wire it in the engine bay. It came out exactly how I wanted it and it looks like its stock.

It's a NGK AFX. I was tossing up using this or a AEM and this hands down had the best reviews of any of the widebands. Plus I like it is a simple good size display and there's nothing fancy about it.

I think I found one that might work but I have to order it.

I am using the stock timing chain that is in my 02.

I am not sure of any advantages of using a 99 timing chain because it should be the exact same one I am running now.

The timing chain from the 1999 3400 is a better setup.

Yeah, the 96-99 timing chain and gears are thicker... so unless you already swapped those into your '02, they are not the same.

I did not know that. I just figured they would all be the same. Since I already have it all torn apart I will look into replacing it just to be safe. Is there anything I should know or a heads up if and when I decide to go ahead and replace it? To bad the double roller is still not available. Also is it worth the time and effort to go ahead and do the job or will the stock one I have hold up just fine?
