Disagree on fuel mileage. Big V8s crusing around at low revs turning a manual transmission do alright on fuel. The 04 is rated at 16/26, vs the 02 GAGT rated at 18/27 - EPAs numbers, in my experience cars usually do a little better than the numbers those people come up with, especially on the highway. If a few hundred bucks in fuel extra a year is a big driving decision for car selection, you need to think about a new hobby.

And insurance, you won't know till you check. I've always had good luck on keeping insurance reasonable, even at your age with performance cars. The GTO has some higher replacement costs, so it's not gonna be GAGT insurance levels, but I don't know that it's going to be all the much more. Quotes are easy enough to do.

That about sums it up. What we do, the costly modifications, the fuel sucking engines, the weekly 2hr wash/detail rituals, are insanity to most people. I watch my neighbor spend hours and hours every week keeping his lawn just so - not my cup of tea at all. But you gotta do what works for you. You don't want to be in over your head on something, or have made a bad investment. But, if your comfortable with the payments and insurance, and you're not killing the rest of your life options, hit it up. You can always dump it down the road if you change your mind, and at the price your getting into it for, you shouldn't be upside-down.

Oh so true. This is why I drive a civic instead of a trans am. May can't come soon enough to graduation. An associates gets you no further than your high school diploma.

That was for bare liability through Gieco, full coverage came out to be $854 a year, payments would be made every other month... I could still manage this. But there is really no need to discuss it anymore, ive made the decision not to buy, it will always be in the back of my head though.

Good. Maybe you'll wise up and realize when you get out of college that a G8 GXP is a better idea

I've been fucked by liability before. It's a waste of money. Full coverage or nothing.

How much did you pay for her? Did she not let you finish and give you blue balls because you didn't wear protection?

Smacked that bish and tossed her out the door.

I then ran her over with a car and got my money back.

Chaos was apparently playing gta

I even have full coverage (with $0 deduct. glass coverage) on the beater ford.. rust and all
It's too damned easy for someone to try to sue ya over nothing, OR, for someone to chickensh!t themselves on your car, and you're stuck with the problem. People are pansies, and will wreck your stuff instead of your face.
Check into it, just to see the difference, may only be 10 bucks a month or so, and as soon as you need it, you'll be very glad you have it. *hopefully you won't need it, but just saying*

okay man, i'm done being the tired old man lets see, what're the kids talkin' about these days?? eeeeh....

How bout them insert team/activity name here???

in 2 to 3 years ill bet you can get a C6 for a decent price. a C6 Z06 isnt off my list, its just down in the 3rd or 4th position now.

It really depends on the state you are in a insurance laws.

Full coverage is a waste here on a 12 year old grand am. It costs almost double what basic liability does, and they will only pay you what they say the car is worth if it's wrecked... which is next to nothing for this car, so it's not worth it. You'll never get your moneys worth out of it.

NYS sucks, and I've seen too many people I know get screwed over on just having liability.
