Oh, I'm all for the tags, and for the useless banter... its what makes this place fun. Its when two people get in an argument in every single thread that it gets a little old. Maybe keep it to 75% of threads

certain cars maybe but the Grand am is not one of them. i carried the entire back seat across a junkyard and the only thing it was, was awkward and that was because it was humid as hell and almost a 1/4mile walk.

i'm talking the part you sit on, the folding portion and the 2 side bolsters.

learn how to say no.

since i have no trunk in the legacy wagon everything get's stored in the foot area between the front and back seat covered by a blanket. usually good enough to keep people from riding around in the back of my car.

Taking out rear seats on a GA?

What a strange way to lose 10 lbs off a DD. I mean, if it's fully gutted for track use, that's one thing... but I'm willing to bet that the same people who remove their backseat still have the spare in their trunk and/or subs.

You have to remove 100 lbs from the car to save 1/10 of a second in the quarter. Rear seats weigh a little less than 30 lbs combined. Passenger seat is around 32 lbs iirc and power driver seat is like 39. Taking the rear seat out isn't going to gain you hardly anything, but it's ok to do at the track. I wouldn't want to drive around like that every day though because it greatly increases the noise inside the car and is annoying as hell.

always been curious on what the front seats weighed. never would have thought the back seat all together weighed that much. the only real heavy part of the back is the folding portion.

The front seats aren't too bad... one person can easily remove them.

oh yeah i did it myself when i swapped seats. i'm am by no means ripped and the fronts weren't too bad. the whole back seat though didn't seem to weigh almost as much as the one front seat.
