The guy gave me the deal cause I went there a few months ago when I got a bubble in my Goodyear eagle gt tire.

Because based on your own logic the Accord/Camry/Maxima are all better perceived cars than the GA (and arguably safer) and therefore should have been a better purchase for ALL of us.

Just bustin' your chops man.

And who says tires/brands are based on something "perceived"? That's a load of BS. All you have to do is search online or look at tirerack.com. They have these things called customer ratings... . They tend to be pretty accurate when you pool together hundreds of peoples experiences with certain tires. Tire rack also does their own expert tire testing on site and give their own reviews, so the recommendations are based on data, not perception.

And why do you think we are arguing for tires that are excessive for her purposes? I didn't tell her to go get a set of Toyo R1R's. I know she isn't going racing with her car. Better brands have better tires in ALL conditions like I stated, and she lives in Ohio and has to deal with winter weather. Tires with better wet and snow grip are safer and that is not excessive for ANYONE'S purposes!

I must be doing it wrong

I just bought this past spring a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires for now my Mom's grocery getter the GA.

Over kill probably...but they were cheaper than the Bridgestone Potenza RE950's replacements (Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS Pole Position).

extremeContact tires a pretty good tire. i would opt for the DW, but you northerners have snow, so the DWS is a great substitute all season tire

DWS's are awesome all seasons. Even if they don't see snow, they're great all around tires with good tread life.

MY BOY RIGHT THERE. R1R's FTW

I know very little about tires and these just so happen to be the only performance tread I have used. So I'm slightly skewed.

We have a TON of 235/40 R17's. IIRC, they're $100 a piece.

17's wont do me ****. I got 15's,16's . I'll figure it out when It comes time I guess. The tires I have still got tread but are worthless when it comes to keeping grip when given power

Why not upgrade to a bigger, wider and lighter wheel?

Its not a racecar. Nor will it ever be. Just a fun old car that puts a smile on my faces and surprises others

What's with the BlueStreak popularity all of the sudden? They're junk Indochiwhocares tires. They're black (when new), round (sortof) and made of rubber (in the academic sense; I prefer to refer to the compound as Chinesium). They don't balance for ****, make tons of noise, and don't wear worth a damn. If you have a second car, park the GA drive the beater. If not, get steelies and blizzaks or GTFO.

On a second note (and truly, no offense intended), why is a SanFran guy with a Bimmer giving snow tire advice?
