So let me get this straight. You're trying to prove to me that you're a smart dude by demonstrated knowledge and bragging about your profession. I'm not impressed. The reason is that experience and intelligence do not make up for a short attention span and bad attitude.

You think I'm an illiterate moron? I'm an automotive engineer son. I also work at GM Powertrain and have tuned control modules for 7 years. I'm pretty sure I could teach you a thing or two so don't talk down to me. Try to be humble in life instead of being a ****y ass. You never know when you might learn something new.

This thread is about automotive science, not even centered on electric supercharging... you just chose to make that the focal point. It also isn't about forcing anything. I made it available as a resource to use or to ignore. Once again, you chose to turn it into an attack when you should have been saying "welcome to the forums" instead. Way to go.

Holy shit, this is hilarious.

I don't get mad because I don't make stupid posts. All I see is a pompous jackass with no mechanical knowledge telling us that "electric superchargers" are good.

My sides have left orbit.

For somebody that's an automotive engineer, you have the pipe dreams of a 17 year old.

Come on now... you know better than that. 4 batteries can supply several hundreds of amps at a good 48+ volts. That's in the neighbourhood of 20HP just to run the blower. Where are you getting +2 HP from?

I am for real. I can speak volumes about MAF, PE, GFS/MBTS/BFS, Torque Management, VE speed density tuning, incipient knock... what do I have to do to prove I'm not a troll?

... I shouldn't have to prove anything at all. This isn't the sort of initiation a new member should get.

Did you guys even read the articles he wrote?

Seems like a lot of undue flaming for not hearing the man out.

Good Fuel Spark. I chose an arbitrary table as evidence. If you compare it to your own, you'll find the values match perfectly for a stock .bin file.

I didn't say it would eliminate knock. What I provided are the factory settings. It's the spark table the car was built with in 2003. Any car will fall out of tune and will exhibit knock over time. That's why I have more than 100 versions of my own bin file with different cell values to eliminate problem KR areas. I could fix your knock problems but not without road scan data.

The biggest contributors to knock (in a normal aging car) are seasonal temperature and humidity variations, coolant temp and cylinder/plug deposits. It's not easy to make more power on an old N/A car. I use fan thresholds, t-stat, AFR and spark to inhibit knock. It's not easy.

EDIT: You may want to begin by either leveling out your fuel trims or ventilating the engine bay more efficiently (preferably both). The fuel trims are stored in PCM memory and rapid fluctuations from a dirty MAF sensor will cause an uneven MAF table. This induces knock simply because the AFR has to adjust rapidly and cause abnormal burn characteristics. Ventilating the engine bay will drop air temps in the induction tubing, which has a considerable impact on KR. You can also add some distilled water to your engine coolant to increase its heat capacity or swap out the t-stat for a lower rating.

Two things.

1- As with just about any mod that people claim increases performance on a GA/N-body, you're going to need more proof/examples of it working. You can't give a bunch of numbers on why it SHOULD work and expect people to seriously consider it as an option. Even companies that come out with new headers generally have to have some installed on a car and dyno-run (with a video) before it can be expected to sell in the community. If you are such a believer in this product, why don't you have one?

2- You state that you posted this as a "general guide" for beginners... how does a $4,000 product that would require TONS of custom fabrication/tuning fall in to this category? Even the most expensive Grand Am on here is only worth about $10,000. You can do turbo builds for cheaper than this electric supercharger. And this electric supercharger is only good for 15 seconds of boost before it's completely spent.....

You have to understand why people would scoff at what you posted. The links contain information that is very general (different engines respond to mods differently), the author has no credentials/proof (although, looks like he wrote another article on "how to make money on the internet"), and every page on there has ads to cheap eBay crap (funny, the page on electric superchargers has links to electric superchargers on eBay...).

Look at it from someone else's point of you. It certainly appears like you're trying to push a product, and if you are.... well, then you should really re-think how you're doing it.
