hmm.... well I don't really like the idea of putting paint or vinyl over the amber turn signals. I've seen it done before yes, but I think it looks kind of cheap and cuts down on light output too much.

If I do it, it's either going to be one lens or the other probably. Only other idea I have is maybe I can sand the orange reflector off the inside of the stock lens? If it will come off completely, I could cut the clear reflector portion out of the other lens and glue it to the inside of the stock lens maybe. I'll have to test it in a little spot and see, then mock it up.

ya but really is the outter corner light needed?
the inner bulb and outter bulb both function as turn signal so I'd say u can get away with the outter being dimmer.... but thats just me.

And see, I'm the exact opposite. My car has been hit 3 times. I want maximum visibility. I WANT people to see my turn signal! The outer one is the one someone sees if they are coming up along side of me (ie blind spot) and I put my signal on. I used to have some add on side marker lights on the front fenders behind the front wheel that were tied into that corner light and I loved them just for that reason.

Any tips on how to hook up the wiring for the hi beam actuator thingy?

I see the projector has a red/black wire lead coming from it and they came with a plug and two rubber seals to put on the lead after it's routed out of the headlight. They gave me a female plug with a wire lead on it that matches those plugs... I'm guessing that has to hook to something that activates it when you flip the hi-beams on. I guess they forgot to give me two though. There was only one in the box. Luckily I have another one exactly like it in my spare parts.

Where do you hook that to though? There is nothing on the ballast for it. The can/bus connector has a small red/black lead coming off it, but the plug is totally different. Is that what I have to hook it to? It would easy enough for me to cut the plug off and just splice the wires together.

Also I'm kinda thinking now, maybe painting the inside of the lights white to match the body might not look the best? Maybe black would be better? Or maybe paint them black and paint just the shrouds white? I'm torn...

Paint everything black with the shroud being the only thing that is white, it'll look killer, trust me.

I was planning on painting my shroud red if I ever got the chance to get a retro.

Here's the best representation I could find

^Yep, I think that did the trick right there! I'll probably do the housing flat or satin black (same as the clear corner lights I have now) and do the shrouds gloss white.

heres how mine is hooked up. CLICK ME i did a mock up before it went in the car to get a basic feel of how things should be plugged in

Great, thanks! So you hooked it up exactly how I was thinking it was supposed to be. Only difference is you got different plugs on your can-bus harness than what I got on mine for the hi/lo actuator. Mine came with a couple tiny little plugs that look nothing like the ones on the projector side. I'll just cut those little plugs off and splice the other ones to the wires and shrink wrap 'em.

Exactly. They should have included the correct plugs in my kit to work with the ballasts and can/bus units I bought. Anyway, I don't want to wait for them to ship anything anyway. I've got stuff that will work just fine and I have everything I need to splice them. Just gonna do it that way.

I'm going to try and powdercoat a housing this week at work to see how it turns out. I thought they would melt, but I just did some valve covers on Friday and had to tape off the inside and it didn't even phase the tape, besides the glue got sticky as hell.

I'll post pics when It's done, maybe something you wanna think about. I'll do them in a semi-gloss black so you can get a good idea of what it looks like.

That's what I thought too, but the masking tape I used on the valve covers came out fine, so I think the housings will be fine, but idk, we'll see. It's an old ****y one anyways, just a test piece really.

Good chance yes, but hey, It's free, so why not give it a shot. If it does work though it would be pretty cool.
