Yeah I talk to Milzy every few days. The amount I have to clear is very minimum and will only take me about 15 minutes to do the work. The setup cleared extremely well and is a huge improvement over stock. I wish people understood how good these DTRC are because then maybe they would be readily available all the time. I was very lucky to get mine when I did.

Yeah I seen that. Your lucky you got one when you did because they are now gone. They are well worth the money especially if your going boost.

yeah thats why i jumped on it, because now they wont be available for a few years. it costs mark to much money to make em and he doesnt have enough buyers to make good profit off of them.

I do have a LS1 MAF but I am going to run a AFC on the stock one first to see if I max it out. What I've been told that using the AFC on my stock MAF will take care of the maxing out the tables. I also changed my injectors to flow matched 60's.

I agree with HOYS on this. An AFC is really just a band-aid. It's something you do if you have no other way to fix the problem. Realistically, if you are flowing enough air to max out the MAF or getting close, then it's small enough to be causing flow restriction. Running the bigger MAF will give you more flow potential without having to resort to "black boxes" to tweak the MAF signal and try and trick the PCM. You are better off leaving the MAF signal alone since it is calibrated to accurately tell the PCM how much air is coming in. If you have a tuner, you can easily switch to the LS1 MAF and simply cut/paste the table for it.

Boost or not has absolutely nothing to do with it. The only thing that will significantly affect the chain stretch is switching to stiffer valve springs and a bigger cam.

I do have a LS1 MAF and HP Tuners Pro. I'm going to run stock first with the AFC, and a tune and see where it goes. If I do max out the tables then I will switch over to the LS1 MAF.

HOYS Still kinda new, but learning
I've never seen flow numbers for a MAF so I'm not sure that actually maxing out the electrical component of a MAF will signal that you are reaching the maximum amount of air that can go through the MAF.

I recommend the LS1 MAF just because of the "resolution" that it provides over the AFC. The AFC is guessing and just bit shifting numbers over to make it a static value more or less than what the MAF is actually reading. Also AFCs do break, leaving your MAF to allow the ECU to dummmmmmmmmmmmp fuel into your engine (think if your MAF is always 12% high and you can't tell exactly without scanning).

Just do the LS1 MAF and ditch the stock.

You can be flowing enough air that it isn't at it's max possible flow, but it's still creating enough flow restriction to cost power.

Anyway, I also still say don't even mess with the AFC. It's a waste of time and money. Put the LS1 MAF in, tune, done.

How many miles on your motor that the chain is stretched? I don't seen any mods related to valve train in your sig?

Just curious as I've got lsx springs on mine... gotta wonder how loose things are getting!

I have 78,000 miles on it. Internals on this motor are stock. The only change is that I will be running ported 3500 heads with LS6 springs, and ported UIM/LIM 3500 manifolds.

Well I got the timing chain cover modified and installed today. Wasn't to bad it just took time making sure that the chain wouldn't rub the cover anymore.

After I installed the timing chain cover I also installed the new upgraded motor mount from MMS. I also I have a upgraded trans mount from MMS that I haven't installed yet.

The trans mount is made very well. I cant wait to have this project done. I have put so much time and energy into this. I will say I am a little jealous that you have a stick shift. I miss driving a stick so much. Having a turboed car with a stick would just be awesome. Once this is all done I will start to figure what I am going to do about the tranny. Maybe I will make that into the next winter project.

im jealous of your turbo build... mine will come together soon enough, but yes the 6 speed is great and his custom mounts for it are far from fantastic. very happy to have the 3400 with a 6 speed. in a turbo build i wouldnt mind an auto for it, but the 6 speed would just be icing on the cake.

only bad thing is most bottom end jobs on the motor, the tranny has to come out with the motor.

Luckily I bought a new trans mount. Mine was completely destroyed and I didn't even know it.

Heres a pic of the two side by side.
