Yeah, the front and rear trans mounts do a lot more to control engine/trans movement from torque than the side one does. I'd get that front mount first before any of the other, in case anyone is on a limited budget and is wondering which to get.

Here's some pics of my intake. I decided to do something a little different with the 3500 UIM. I wanted to see what it would look like without the ribs in it so I bondoed it up and sanded it flush.

I tried a paint that made it look like it was armor coated like the stuff they use for bed liners.

I'd say little to no difference in temp change with that paint.

Keep in mind it's sitting on the top of the motor, so either way its going to get pretty warm.

Very clean man. The bondo isn't going to be an issue over time is it?

No it wont keep the temps down from the paint. The UIM doesnt get a lot of heat anyways. I did it just for cosmetic looks.

I'm not sure. I am a little worried about how it will hold up to the heat. I figured the only way I would know if it will hold or not was just to do it. Worse case scenario if it doesnt hold I just redo it.

if the bondo doesn't hold up you could always try JB weld. could try one of the big 10oz tubes..not sure how much it would take.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure those fins provide extra cooling. Or maybe they are just for strength. Hard to say. Sanding them off then putting bondo and paint over them certainly isn't going to help it shed heat though. But it does look purdy.

What 'choo talkin' bout Willis?! Of course the UIM gets a lot of heat. It sits right on top of the engine and gets baked to hell. It absorbs heat from the contact points with the LIM as well as radiant heat though, so paint or no paint probably isn't going to change the temp much. You have to get it ceramic coated and use phenolic spacers to lower the temp, and it probably wouldn't make enough diff to be worth the cost.

I wish people understood how much work it is to put a build like this together. People seem to think that is just comes together over night.

Tonight I pulled the oil pan and let me tell you it was not easy. I had to unbolt the front, side trans mount, and engine mount to allow movement of the engine. I jacked up the engine as much as I could to try and pull the oil pan out. It kept hanging on the sub frame so I actually laid on my back and pushed the motor up with my feet to give me the extra room I needed to pull the pan.

The next few days I will put the new oil pump in and the new pan. Once this is all done then all the hard work with this will be officially over with. Not to far off and this build will be completed.

Well just some updates. The new HV oil pump and oil pan are in. I will tell you it was a major PITA with the car being on stands and the motor in. I have started putting things back together so hopefully here soon I will be getting ready to run tubing for the intercooler and make the oil and feed lines. Not much longer and this will be done. It hard at times to stay focused but I do see the end. I believe when this is done with be in the top 3 of turboed GA's with Milzy and Nick. You may think I'm crazy but I believe I have planned well. The only thing holding me back in this POS 4T45E tranny.

I didn't read much of anything into this but Tejohnson was having issues and he believed the HV oil pump was sucking the pan dry...

Worries about this or did you read something else where? Or was Tejohnson's issue something else?
