I schedule vacation for the week of my birthday, so I'll be in Davenport June 13th for Here Come the Mummies, they crack me up... aside of that, I have kids, which is my major limiting factor, I'd like to do StL during the NHRA show down there them things are bad, so very, very badass

Sept 27->29th

so yeah all the stl people want the meet to be in stl, no surprise there.

have you guys ever been to pere marquette? its about 40 mins north of ST.L north. it is in BFE but its a pretty cool lodge

http://www.greatriverroad.com/Pere/PereIndex.htm

if st.l is going to be the meeting spot, you can probably count me out. my g/f has family in st.L and the several times i've made the trip in the past 10 years, its about a 6 hour drive. thats a little far for just a weekend, or at least it was the last time we did that.

my vote is somewhere mid illions, but i have no clue wtf is down there, so what do i know. mid illions does seem like a pretty central spot for St.L people, and illions people.

I'm in for whatever, just as long as I don't have to drive too far. St. Louis would be cool, but farther for some to travel.

so this weekend i did a test fit of all of my camping stuff in my car. with my subs and spare tire out, it will all fit. were going camping in a few weeks and i dont want to take the g/fs suv because it doesnt have cruise, plus all the gas i'll save with my car. i'm shocked it all fit. but were camping for 4 days with 0 electricity, i cant wait.

so anyways packing up everything in my car thought of this thread.

so whats gonig on with it? are we going to meet at this state park in IL or are we going to meet somewhere in/around ST.L? this thread was hot for a few days, then died fast. if this meet is for real i think were going to get the best turn out if we plan far in advance. also its easier for us to plan around as well. lets get this meet rolling if its going to happen.

also for those who are concerned about fitting camping stuff in there car heres what i can fit in mine

6 person tent (no you cant sleep in it with us)
1 tarp
2 sleeping bags
2 air matress'
2 blankets
4 days of food and water
20ish gallon cooler
3 gallon cooler
1) 5 gallon water bucket
2 pillows
2 days worth of wood
4 days of cloths plus extra just in case of rain or water
misc stuff like cooking gear, lanterns, and flashlights

so yeah, a lot of crap can fit, and i can still see out the back window. i did make sure i had towing, and road side assistance on my car though

If it's anything like around here... man we got roads that I've never heard of flooded that look like they're rivers. It's insane, been hell trying to get around at work. bleh.

I have a creek this way that may as well be a river now.

I'm still in on this, I've been looking at some state parks here and starved rock seems like a nice place. There around 2300 acres, tons of trails, canyons, lodging, etc. I'm planning on going camping there 4th of July weekend, but looks like a nice place.

And I might be in Eddyville (ia) on 4th weekend, they do "night of fire" and have some NHRA funny cars, and a jet car or two, wheelie cars, and whatever else they can get, some retro cars usually show up... and I think that might actually put me further away then just being here

Well, I think we agreed that the 4th is a no go, I was just stating I will be there to see how it is and if It's as nice as it seems I would go again.
