I think starved rock is a pretty good location. We could do a cook out. Keeps costs down for everyone. Any one else have a suggestion?

Well, we have some people from Missouri, Iowa and Indiana too, so we're trying to find a mid point. I myself would like starved rock because there's a lot to do, but I want to be fair to the others.

They do have cabins that are not that expensive. I plan on doing that for my 4th of July trip, just because I'm taking my dog and I didn't get any sleep last I'm we took him camping. He barked at every little sound.

Well, I have my 2 kids, the wife has her 2... this will basically be a me taking an afternoon off to do what I want, and assuming my kids are up here, I wouldn't stick her with them all weekend.
I know, my life schedule sucks, off on Tuesday and Sunday, but Sunday is eaten up by taking my kids home... stupid weiner, been interfering with my life for 20 years now

i think the rock is going to be a pretty good central location. its about a 3 hour drive for me, and about 3.5 for st.l people, so its pretty even. plus we'll get more chicago people this way, and its really nice being right off 80 for anyone travling east/west.

what say you St.L people?

3 hours north of StL and it shows me 3.25 hours... dunno how they'll get there in the same time as me.
I'm north up 61 to 80 and east, quickest way for me to get there.

All depends on the date. I have a busy summer and it would be about 5 hours for me as well. Not sure if I want to take the T/A that far. But I'll think about it.
