Man why did Tog have to make these things so complicated. I hate the design of how they connect. Why couldn't they connect like a Cat-back.

No there going on my GA. Im going to be doing a different bolt on system tho so i dont have to play with them donut gaskets. Im going to rig it up to bolt on like a catback. My buddys shop has it all. Basically im going to cut the very ends off and then make it so the pipe just slides over each other and then clamps down nice and tight. Me and Him will be working on it together.

If i were to sell them it would start at $250 but thats not happening. I always wanted a full performance exhaust and after the exhaust is done a Port and Polish will be next along with a 65mm TB.

Dude, you're basically describing a v-band, just a v-band is better than what you plan on doing.

I say v-band it, hell v-band your exhaust too while your at it.

sounds to me like he's gonna cut the existing flange off the crossover and just slip a piece of pipe over both ends and clamp it.

since your already cutting the flange off a v-band won't take any extra time to install.

Clamps are a bad idea. You'll have trouble getting everything together and getting them to line up properly, and you'll have an even harder time getting them apart. And you still might get leaks. Trust me, if you are going to modify them at all, just do v-bands. It's not that expensive and it will work MUCH better.

You can cut the flanges off the front/rear headers first and weld on one half of the v-band coupling. Then bolt the front and rear headers to the engine and torque them so they are in position, modify the cross over pipe as needed to reach the new flanges, then weld on the matching halves of the v-band. That's the easiest way to insure it all fits properly.

clamps are alright for a temp fix and even then they suck. to get any usability out of them you have to crush the shit out of the pipe and even then it won't hold for long..
