I agree we should do a weekend meet. Saturday and sunday so we can do some camping cause that would be awesome. Although some people would only be able to make it down on Sunday. And bring enough food for both days.

Thats what we need to figure out . It needs to be far away enough so people can plan for it.

just got back from a 4 day, 3 night camping trip. all my gear fit in my car with a passenger. so if anyone is planning on camping like i am, your stuff should fit. its just 1 night.

we do need to get a date going though. my vote is for late september, early oct. before the first frost, but after the real summer heat.

that is of course if we are meeting at the rock, i guess thats yet to be decided as well.

I think starved rock is a great central location. As for late September I think that is a great idea.

September or October is fine with me, gives me some time to get some stuff done to the car.

I'm fine with Starved Rock, but I'm also in Illinois too. So I'll leave the decision up to everyone that has to travel further.

It doesn't really matter to me, I would like starved rock for the scenery, and camping. A place similar somewhere else would be fine with me too.

if this thread is dead for over a week at a time. . . . . then this meet is not going to happen. i hope i'm not the only one that realizes this. especially sinse were yet to come up with the little things like LOCATION, and DATE.

someone needs to take charge of this, and dont look at me, because i suck at suff like this. but if this meet is going to happen we really need to start planning things.

I was waiting for my vacation in July, I'm camping there for a few days and wanted to check it out. I'll take some live and find out more details then.

sweet dude take some pics for me. there is a place i go in IN every year that has some really awesome trails. i hope it looks something like this

also if you would check out the camp sites too please. the biggest one with the most shade is where its at.

off topic, your nuts to camp in july. i did that last year in a tent with no power to run a fan for 2 nights, it didnt get under 80 the whole time i was there, and to top it off it was at clinton lake in IL. for those of you that dont know clinton lake is a lake thats used to cool a nuclear power plant. the coldest part of the lake when i was there was 85. yes 85. the hotest was over 100. before anyone calls b/s heres the proof. note the 3rd number down. also note it says engine hours which means i was in a boat, not a hot tub.

after that weekend i'll never camp in july again. lesson learned. i hope its not that hot when you camp man, i really do.

Definitely will take some pics, hopefully I'll drag the GA down and get it in some shots too.

I was looking at their camp sites on the web site and I seen some group camping, this would cut cost down if we have enough willing to camp. hopefully there's some nice shaded area for the group sites as well.

Well, I'm not that crazy, I'm renting a cabin because I'm bringing my dog. The last time we camped outside with him he would wake us up with him barking at every little noise. Hopefully the cabin keeps him a bit quieter.

I hope it looks like something like that pic too, nice trails and rock formations ftw.
