I don't remember where I saw it or what brand, but I read something the other day about a brand/line of tires with a higher wear rated rubber compound compared to the rest of the tire, just on the inside section of the tread, specifically to help them last longer on cars like that. My friends 3 series bimmer wore tires on the inside edge too. Front and back, although the rears wore faster. Wasn't lowered either. Stock oem sport suspension.

I know some folks had Kumho Escta tires and they seem to run through pretty quickly. I've had mine on since 08' and they've been ok. But then again the GA got garaged every other year...

Yeah. Had issues in the past but they weren't as prevalent as this. I don't know too much about handling geometry; would it be wrong to assume that I could adjust the camber to that there was more toe (heel?) to counteract heavier wear on the inner tread?

Hmmm...I really don't want to spend all that much on a full set of tires because I always seem to have issues with them (e.g. nails, debris, etc.). And I'm frickin' tired of Z-rated highers because dammit- this is not a racecar!

But if you happen to remember the brand that'd be great.

Currently have 98 miles on this tank of gas. Decided to see how much I could get out of a single tank. Going well thus far.

The most I've seen is 425 out of a tank of fuel, although that week and a half was a breeze. I got lucky going to and from work hitting no traffic, I stayed home all that week after work and did around town driving that weekend.

I've been stuck for 15-20 min in stop and go traffic so that didn't help. Neither is this heat having to use the damn air conditioning on the highway.

Thats why you roll your windows down, i havent used my AC in oh... 3 years now?

Yeah I left the sunroof open during dinner and it ended up pouring its ass off. So that sensor is out and I just pulled the bulb off the cluster .

Using AC under 40mph hurts mileage, but improve mileage over 40 instead of windows down. Not by much, but it does. Normally I'm windows down and doing 80 .

You really don't need to. But if you aren't using it and going turbo. Probably best to remove it.

I dont use it, easier to have it removed, one less thing i have to worry about.

Your window defogger won't work anymore. No real reason to remove it. It's not that much weight, and it doesn't really cost you HP. A properly designed turbo system and intercooler can work just fine with A/C. Only need to remove it if you are doing a cheap hack job.


I personally don't use the A/C that much either, but I'm still glad I have it for when I really need it.

BMWs have camber adjustments in the rear, the average shop usually doesn't know how to do it, or want to. I'd find a shop with an alignment rack that specializes in BMW/German cars, you could hit up a dealer but that's $$$$$ right there, although it will be done right the first time.

Getting rid of the camber wear altogether won't happen, because of the way the suspension is designed though. But look at the tire size you're running! Comes with the territory. Speaking of which, what is the tire size exactly? Toyo Proxes 4 Plus might be the way to go, they have a treadwear of 540, you'd get much more life out of them compared to the cheapo brands like Nankangs.

I know im playin around but will probably remove it, and rear defrost hasnt worked for 5 years. Dont ever need it now. Lol

he doesn't need the rear defroster. it never get's driven in anything but sun..

i took my compressor out until i could fix it since it sounded like shit.. the rest of the crap is still there.
