Gahhh..night and day difference. Took an extra day because as they were removing the originals they noticed that both front perches/mounting areas were bent and and the new ones would not seat properly. Ended up having to go into the bodyshop to get reshaped on each side so the new ones would work. Oopsies. ****ing roads...

But eliminated 70% of problems I had with the car e.g. squeaks, bouncing, rattling, etc. Do shocks have a wear-in phase? Like will I noticed any difference between now and say in 5K miles?

Shocks don't generally have that, it may soften up after awhile...but there isn't any "break in" period for shocks as far as I know.

Gotcha.

He showed me the old shocks...was able to compress them fully by hand.

It went out to be detailed last night, did a really good job considering what he had to work with

And of course, right off the bat.. But see that reflection??? in my old neglected paint?

Oh the crazy uncle is spending 30 days in jail for his antics while driving afore pictured GA 135 mph in a chase with police (that is the police report btw, idk how off they would be) while he had it. tisk, tisk, tisk.

Yea, that's what the effing police report said

He went 68 through a 40, at which point the officer "attempted to stop vehicle, which quickly hit speeds up to and sustaining 135mph"..... officer stopped suspect vehicle at Casey's store, without occupants.... suspect came out of store to awaiting police and was apprehended after brief struggle.

those are the highlights

basically there is a 10 mile shot between a couple little towns, he got clocked in one, chased into the other, outran the cop, and then stopped for another beer apparently and to pee, and they caught up.

2 color car FTL in this case

well, he got divorced, and his wife took his/her/their truck. so, he borrowed it, then looked like it was a long time thing(and it was backed into and dinked up the bumper), so I sold it to him so the paperwork was right and I wasn't paying insurance, just in case... he does have a history of this behavior.....

anyway they ended up getting back together, i bought the car back, i guess bought is a loose term sort of, but anyways, it was filthy, smelled like cigs, and had ran from the police, he lives an hour away, but did this right across the bridge, where i drive every weekend taking my kids back and forth I do NOT speed in illinois!!! I have a feeling a Rodney King style overreaction may happen

Lets just say, aside of his human-cartoon self, the story didn't make me thrilled, but its kinda one of those things, with it being him, it almost made sense, as weird as that sounds... and after being angry, I kinda laughed at it, but it isn't going back

The dude that was detailing it said his neighbor and about 10 other guys (that are working across the street on something underground) during the day came over to check out the car. He also wants to buy it. BAD. So, here we may go again , maybe. My kids are too tall to get back and forth in the Sorento already, so we may have to go the van route, then we'll just trade down to a car for the Sorento and I'll turn the GA into a van, and drive the truck around while she gets a new car, which is kinda lame, but it's one of them things old people with kids have to do.

I thought the limiter was like 125, so I dunno how correct that is, but that's the official record of it

He's lucky it didn't come apart at like 70 tho
