huh, I'm surprised a car that old is worth that much. Especially a domestic, and a dead brand at that. They used to be much cheaper. I guess used car prices are still really high since the recession.

If I was in need, I would think about making an offer on the purple car. That would be very slick with a nice set of wheels and an SC/T kit. I really do like dark purple. Wouldn't pay that much, maybe a little less. It is rough around the edges.

Yea, for some reason prices have jumped up here. There are three trucks with blown motors that they're asking 4 grand that's insane! And not selling either...
I don't get it either, last year, 2500 on a real good day, cars don't go up in price, I think they forgot that up here

Not completely true. My G8 GXP has gone up nearly $3K in KBB value since March when I bought it. That's even counting the extra 5K miles I've put on it since then.

But in context with this topic, no, normal cars don't go up in value very often. I think that the "sweet spot" on a used car tends to fall between $2500 - $3500 though. Anything less than that and people consider it to be junk and any more than that, they seem to think it should be brand new quality. Strange how people are more concerned with the price range than the actual quality of the car most of the time. I've picked up a few cars for $1K and with only minor repairs (around $500 - $1K) I've been able to sell them in that $2.5K - $3.5K price range. The price you ask tends to make the customer assume a certain amount of quality even if you don't expect to actually get that much for it. It's kind of strange (and scary) how easily our perceptions can be manipulated sometimes...
