Thanks Aaron I will get back to you guys later today as I plan to return the car to stop conditions to figure out how the regulator and actuator will respond with the supercharger of of the car, this way I can see exactly how it maneuvers! Any other insight or suggestions before I start peicing her back together?

Quick question regarding how the regulator works when the key is turned to the on position... With the new regulator I purchased it is behaving completely different under the pressure test. Is it supposed tO spike up to about 58 perhaps a little less, and then it gradually trickles down on it own to about 20... The old regulator wanted to sit at about 44 and it didnt move at all it just froze there?

Not really no. It should kick up to around 48-50 psi at least and should stay there for a good while. It shouldn't lose more than 1psi every couple minutes.

Well... Boys I think we may have a problem... I turn the key to the on position and it shoots up to about 56/58 psi and It rapidly fades, it basically fading all the way down to 40psi by the time I get out of the car and under the hood, keep in mind this is not with the car running just the key on position... I may have to buy another regulator I went in to advance auto yesterday and the one they carry looks OEM?

That sounds normal for key-on, engine off readings. I'd try starting the car and get a fuel pressure reading when it's running.

no way. That is not normal at all. When I turn my key on with the engine off, the pressure jumps up to 54 psi and stay there for a long time. It takes almost an hour for the pressure to drop back down again. I would say he got a bad regulator, or the check valve on his pump is shot. He still should be able to start the car though, and see if the pressure is correct while the engine is running.

Well... I officially ended up buying yet a second regulator today from advance auto. Also picked up an Optima Red Top while I was there hefty investment but well worth it! I have a buddy that works there so he hooked me up with his discount. Currently I am going to keep the "bad regulator" installed in the car until I get the supercharger back in the car, that way I can start it and see what I actually have! And if not I have this new regulator on stand buy, the regulator from rock auto was slightly different then stock and well its was really a waste of money, at $50 a pop I would really hate to have to buy another one of these!

... And she runs!!!!!!!!!! I REPEAT... WE HAVE LIFE!!! Video to come shortly, she idles on her own now roughly idling at 1100-1200RPM... I don't know if that's normal? I didn't really give her a chance to warm up do to the fact that I have yet to refill the coolant... I think I still have some minor problems going on behind the scenes, I'm throwing a service engine soon code... It was flashing but it now just wants to stay lit constant! Umm... IDK. I'm very happy!!!

I don't think it should be whining that loud on idle... even if idle for you right now is 1100-1200 rpm.

But glad you finally got it started. Work out those small issues and you will be in love

Obviously after filling the coolant, I guess look for what I hope is the final air leak.

If it were me, though, I'd connect the MAF directly to the throttle body, it would simplify things in the long run.

But seriously, more light on the subject, please....

Well thanks guys... It does whine pretty loud which doesn't seem normal, so I will see what I can do about correcting that. I'm not really sure where to go next because of the fact everything has been gone through thoroughly, tomorrow I'm gonna go to work on refilling the coolant and perhaps re-routing some of the wiring and hoses to my liking which is difficult!

Is it possible that the whining factor could be related to something internal on the charger? Or something mechanically? I would really hope not...

Its my dads garage and his lighting blows major balls, all we have is 4 overhead lamps... When I get a garage I will be sure to light it up and everything will be white! I'm pretty sure military bases back in WWII had better lighting than this garage! Greg how would you go about re-locating the MAF??? I would like to use something other than this cheesy black flexible hose, I WOULD KILL TO HAVE A SET-UP LIKE AARON'S!!! So if you could direct me in the right path for the MAF I would be greatly proud to go with that!

Tomorrow I plan on posting accurate fuel pressure numbers just to make sure everything is 100% accurate there... Anything else I should look over?

For the time being, I think I'd use the stock TB coupler (plug the holes in it) to the MAF, and then to a 90* 3 inch aluminum tube. In spite of what people say about it, the stock coupler will flow a lot of air, and is versatile to use. Then see if you can follow the whining sound when the idle settles to a lower rpm. And/Or shine a spotlight on the setup as you do a walkaround video showing each connection, with the engine off, first.

Damnit, I hate that ugly ass black rubber tube sock!!! I will have to find my old one from when I bought the cold air kit, I don't like the one the previous owner sent me because it has half a million holes punched in it, I will see what I can do tomorrow! I will try to get a walk around video tomorrow, how long does it take for the car to idle down, under stock conditions for me it seemed like it took about 30 seconds? I didn't leave her running long enough today for her to idle down.

Well, it has a set Idle RPM for each range of engine coolant temperature, it should settle down to 675 @ 158* ECT, if I remember right...

But also, the PCM will change from Open Loop mode to Closed Loop mode after it begins to warm up. Closed Loop mode is where the less severe air leaks or MAF problems can show up, because the O2 sensor doesn't track with the MAF's reading.

Umm. Yeah. That whine doesn't sound right Brandon. Glad you got her running. Think a leak somewheres?

I'm surprised the dogs in the neighborhood weren't howling..

Yeah there has got to be a small leak somewhere ... Question is where? It's so hard to find these damn things! So frustrating! It runs maybe I should just leave it? Let people know what's up? Lol.
