You can litterally take what I'm selling, drop it into any 3400 powered car (if it has an engine currently for things like exhaust manifolds n' stuff that won't come with it) bolt up, and be driving with 0 check engine lights (EVAP is figured out for 00+ models but you can solve it easily) and have a great engine.

No external crank trigger as the crank was machined for the 3400 style trigger.

All adapters are provided (TB, coil pack, ECT, MAP, and Oil Level sender because 3500 oil pan does not have a level sensor)

Buy me buy me buy me. Hell I'll even tune your PCM if you throw in money for the HPT license :P

I need to make my scooby go fast!!!

Wonder how much it usually cost to ship a motor? Since you're pretty much shipping a crate engine.

How many total miles on it?

When I bought the engine I was told the short block had 29k miles on it and it was pretty evident it had just about that by looking at the bearings when I took the crank out to be machined. Past the bearings every single seal is brand new with about 12k miles on it. So you are looking for a total of about 40k on the engine.

Shipping is a strange beast for large items. I'd crate it up for free but I'd have to do some digging into prices on shipping.

You aren't too far away...might be worth it to take a road trip to get it

Add 30 HP. Not as many LIM gasket issues.

They are very similar engines. the LX9 has extra oil squirters and a few other things.

Who knows about reliability.

Either way I have a pretty soild offer on the car minus the LX9 so it'll be coming out one way or another shortly...meaning the deposit might go away.

I'm just trying to figure why people praise this 3.5 swap into a GA so much if the only real benefit is 30 more HP.

Well here is the thing:

Your intake manifold gaskets go in the 3400. Darn.

You can tear half the engine apart, put new gaskets in, and be done with it. A shop average will charge 550-1000 for this job...depending on where you go etc etc. Probably around 100 dollars to do it yourself.

Say your 3400 is a bit higher miles and you want to put a new engine in (or your engine died!)...spend around 400 dollars and get a 30,000 mile LX9, spend about 2x the time removing the whole engine, spend about 300 dollars on a swap kit, and you have a low mile engine with more horsepower.

I think dollar for horsepower the 3500 swap is one of the cheapest (and in my mind sensible) modifications to do to your Grand Am. DIY around 800 dollars if you source the engine and get a swap kit. 26 dollars per HP gain. A turbo kit installed has a better dollar to hp ratio but nobody wants to spend that kind of money.

I'm offering my lower mile engine, with everything needed to swap, with goodies like an internal crank trigger, crankshaft machined to accept DR:TC, turbo oil return (-AN), ported intakes, and my help with whatever you need for 750 dollars.

Buy me.

True, and false. Its hit or miss with this IMO. My stock gaskets lasted up to 184k miles. (They were still good) only reason i had to change them is because i got ported UIM/LIM. The ex owner was my uncle and the job was never done on the car never went out or needed it. I have had the car since 127k miles. So from 0-184k the gaskets were still in good shape and never leaked.
