Where do you see 5hp in this article for filter/CAI alone? All I see is after for exhaust and CAI...

Here is a pressure differential test between K&N and pleated. I know it's for BMW, but it's a direct comparison for K&N vs pleated paper with total area measured. More area means less restriction.

We deal with a lot of spec race cars (have to be bone stock, only exception is .020" over rebuild), we have spent hours and hours on the dyno getting every .5hp we can from them.

Just like the companies that claim you can save 5hp from removing a clutch fan and going electric, we saw .9hp difference on a dyno.

Not trying to beat a dead horse and you guys can think what you want from what you read on the interwebz, but we are on the dyno several hours a month. Kinda wish our tech didn't get rid of his GA, would have provided real world results.

Well he certainly didn't make 17whp and 21 at the crank just from a cat-back exhaust. I've seen other grand ams and other cars dyno'd with just a CAI, and they all made power. I've seen test after test after test, and read HUNDREDS of magazine articles, and read up on the principles in books on intake modifications. It makes power. I'm done debating it.

Yeah, I read that article. I might have to go driving down there some time... now that I'm not too far away. It's probably not as fun as driving the dragon, but OH is closer than TN/NC now.
