If wax or glaze dries, you can either use more of the same product or some QD to take it off easily.

i dont know what it was about the megs #7 glaze, but when i left it to dry, even spraying QD on it and using a MF towel it was still super hard to wipe off.
LEARN FROM MY FAIL. +30 minutes to wipe a product off of the car. i had been doing my parents envoy suv, but not even halfway through they're talking about trading it in, so i just glazed the remaining panels. the m105 did wonders on the deep scratches on the hood. the rear bumper was messed up pretty good and i was looking forward to getting some before/after pics of it, but thats not going to happen now. anyways, time for a pic. i found some 3ooo grit trizact 3m wetsand paper. hit up the ole' subie fender for some more leveling and hit a new problem. after i buffed with m105, i still had visible sanding lines in the clear. look at the light bulb reflections. the part on the right had not been buffed yet, but the part on the left with the lights has been buffed with m105 on a yellow pad. didnt have this problem before with 2k grit and an orange pad. very confusing ![]()

just a few updates. i waxed the car a week ago with mothers pure carnauba finishing wax. realy deep wet gloss! i washed the car for the first time since the wax, using a microfiber and megs ulti car wash soap. when i sprayed the loose dust off the car, it beaded as beautifully as you'd imagine. but when i wiped a panel with the soapy microfiber and rinsed, the beading was 85% less. not as bad as sheeting, but not beading like a waxed car would. so the mothers finishing pure carnuba wax does wonders for glossy shine, but doesn't withstand washing. really, i could have just sprayed the loose dust off the car and left it beady.
today i pulled the rims off to clean, glaze, and seal. david, stewartfn18, gave me some wheel glaze from the dp brand, or detailers choice? anyways, i couldn't believe the difference it made on the black rims!!! spoke on right was glazed, left was clean but not glazed. the finish is called matte black, and they're in perfect shape so far. in the unglazed condition, that's exactly how they looked when they came out of the box. ![]() applying glaze to bottom half of left spoke. ![]() top half is unglazed, bottom half IS glazed! big difference. ![]() ![]() how bad is your Obsessive Compulsive Disorder? i cant stand having silver wheel weights sticking out like a sore thumb on a black rim. i sprayed this one, but i'm going to get some hobby paint brushes and dab it on the rest. ![]() ![]() what have you guys been up to? moving all your products inside so they don't freeze and ruin? just come down to floriduh already.

Products always stay in my room
. Car is still beading like a champ, no need for windshield wipers. I've come to the conclusion moderate dealership paint jobs all have orange peel, I've seen 2012 cars that have it and they're barely old. So what I want to think in my mind I will continue to think, that is it just the texture of a run-of-the-mill factory paint job . Not that its bothering me but my car may appear to have it but the paint is still completely smooth to the touch. Anyways, I cleaned the fk outta my room and now my closet can be useful. Removed the closet doors and found a place to store my wheels for the winter ![]() ![]()

I did a full detail interior and exterior. inside I used a citrus all purpose cleaner for the panels and carpets which wasn't really dirty at all. On the exterior I used 3m machine polish followed by 3m ultrafine polish. sealed it with 2 coats of blackfire wet diamond.

I wish I could it's my parents garage though and apparently I can't do it there either
! My dad wasn't happy since I parked in the garage before the car was dry so it got the floor all wet. |

Pfft there hasn't been a car parked in the garage for at least 26 years... I'll never understand it. He actually just this year completely cleaned it out and put insulation in and a ceiling and all new lights. It use to not have any of that just an open loft/attic area and open walls. But whatever my garage is full of junk right now from house projects so I guess I don't have much room to talk. The only excuse I have it that mine barely fits a car. Theirs is a 2 car garage

my g8 has deep random scratches all over the hood and trunk, b/c of previous owner lubricating their car-wash brush with sand and dirt. pay attention to how you've been washing the car, so you won't have more scratches in the future. i usually have a clip-on light on top of a ladder while i am using the DA. after i wipe the section off and i'm ready to inspect, i hold the light as far away as my arm can, so i can inspect the reflection, and i move the light back and forth. also try moving your head/eyes closer to the panel, and at an angle. example: if you're checking the front fender, then have your head back near the door while the light shines perpendicular to the fender. -but that's only if you're totally nuts about a flawless clearcoat like me. your progress looks good to me! try to get a few "before" pix next time, alright? ![]()

wow things are looking really good in here. good job guys
the best light to see swirls in is with a halogen light like this one http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/01...05_500X500.jpg however, direct light with a light bulb, or flashlight will work
