I totally agree the trac control blows in the GA, it's why it's parked and the no assist truck is out flying around like there's no tomorrow. I always felt it was due to so many years of driving a box truck with duals and all weather (crap tires, which are the worst thing to drive, they're helpless but that's another story ) for so long, the fwd just feels wrong to me in slick weather.

But, in general, the traction control/abs/stability control system of the new vehicles works pretty decent, the 4wd(all time auto or manual 4wd mode) borrego(built on truck frame) had all that, and with it on, the thing was pretty capable...with it off, it was ALL OVER THE PLACE. The FWD Sorento(car build) has all it, and it can't get itself out of anywhere to save it's own as$...

Well I'm going to tuneup my car this month, probably next week. My car has 101k and I have no clue what the pervious owner did so my car is long over due for a tuneup. I've been reading around and from my understanding, AcDelco/NGK platinum or iridium plugs are the way to go. I'm probably going to go ahead and use AcDelco iridium plugs for my car, is this the best route to go?

yep Scott, the Iridiums are the OEM replacement, there are some people who are much more in favor of the iridium laser, I just have the IX i think they are, had no issues with them.

*Waiting for Tanner to tell me my opinion is wrong *

Traction control is a hinderance in the GA. It utilizes the ignition/fuel system to "slow" the wheel spin, so the car just bogs down and does more harm than good. Screw that noise. Turn it off and learn how to actually drive without it.

OEM is iridium, in fact the plugs are made by NGK. They're just sold with AC Delco labels.

Yeah NGK=AcDelco when it comes to these plugs. I'll go iridium. If it's easy enough I may just do it today.

(I am just busting an you again Tanner)

Chaos, what's the difference between the IX and Laser variety though? the Guru over on the other site had it down pat, but I couldn't find it on there if I had to. I know there are differences from what all he had dug up, I don't remember what they are tho

Scott---the extension and a knuckle really help with the rear, but if you've changed plugs in a FWD before, you won't have any issue, it's just changing plugs

I know how to drive. Just because I said mine works fine doesn't mean I rely on it or make sure I drive like a jackass so that it turns on.

^That

and I drive better then most in the snow. People where going 10mph Friday night when that snow "storm" hit and I was going past them at atleast 40. Not being unsafe at all, I knew the capabilities of myself and my car. It was literally not that bad out there. Someone flashed their lights at me as I drove past them, shoulda flicked them off. Either was flashed because I was "going to fast" or drove to close to them while driving past them. Fact of the matter is I wasn't going fast and he was in my lane hovering over the centerline. Don't see how hard it is for people to know where lanes are even if the snow has it all covered. Cannot stand when people either drive slow when its not necessary or are flying over the speed limit in a hurry to get somewhere.

I know people will say "I know the capabilities of blah blah blah" and then you'll see once you get in a wreck. Fact is I'm here and fine without any slips or slides.

probably busy on their phone not paying attention. i can understand not seeing lanes under snow, but those jackoffs can't find them in broad daylight with their headlights (on high beam) on

Should I change the wires while I'm at it?

I personally did, I went with the iridium IX, new wires, and a coil, one of them was rusted. figure it has almost at 100K, I hadn't done them, so went ahead and did it.

I also changed antifreeze too, had the car for about 30K miles at that point, didn't know when it had been done last. It was right before I headed to MN to meet Fabs to get the WS6 hood, so I went to make sure I had given myself the best chance possible

Oh ok well I've recently done the following:

Major things i've done in the last year:
-All new brakes (Front and rear, all new calipers, all new rotors, all new pads, SS lines, new parking brake cables, brake fluid flush)
-New sway bars front and rear (SpeedBuilt) with new bushings and all.
-New IAC
-New TPS
-New OEM GM coolant reservoir
-Coolant Flush with Dexcool
-Transmission Flush with Dexron
-New Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter
-All new Motor mounts and All new Transmission mounts
-All new Tires

My car has been getting really poor gas mileage and preforming poorly so I think it's time for the tune up especially at this mileage. I got the car with 83k on it and I'm now at 101k, I drive it, I'm not like sleepy.

For spark plug wires, what brand do you recommend to replace them with?

http://customgrandam.com/taylor.htm

Or is it really irrelevant?

I didn't buy the cheap store brand stuff, I got whatever it is that O'Reilly carries that was their best on hand stuff, IIRC they were 8mm, silicone. I was taking a road trip, so I didn't opt for waiting on order in. They're 3 years old now, plus a few months, and mine doesn't get a ton of miles on it, but they've been just fine for me
