Getting the front bumper painted this week. I got a great deal since the guy was looking for work. So there's another item off my check list. Should have pictures this weekend.

He is just a local guy that does it out of a small paint booth set up in his garage. I don't think he'd do a whole car.

The bumper is finally glossy instead of flat black!

I have an arrowhead already but I am waiting until Spring to put it on.

They could just be the ultrabrights from Sylvania, I don't know why but the tip of the bulb is blue, same with the fog bulbs they make.

Philips crystal vision ultra. Yea don't like the blue tips either. I'm doing HID eventually. They are the same for my fog lights too. Just don't have them put back in yet

Well my mechanic looked at it and checked all the rocker arms and said that they were all fine. He said the car seems to be running fine as well. So now I'm confused. Before I took it to him there was a loud knocking noise coming from what seemed to be the rear valve cover. It would increase in pace as I gave it throttle. The car also died on me right before I started hearing the noise. The car began to struggle to stay at idle and the RPMs would drop below 500. The car would also misfire every couple minutes. So now I don't really know what to do because there was clearly something majorly wrong with it that seems to have just disappeared. He said he was going to look at it some more so maybe he will find something. I am so broke right now so I am really hoping this isn't going to cost a fortune to fix.

Well he thinks it is the lifter. He is looking more into it tonight. I do not know to much about engines but I am sure this is not good. Cam is probably trashed too.

He confirmed it is the lifter and that the cam is trashed as well. There goes a boat load of money

Yikes. I had a lifter fail twice, my cam survived though. If you're gonna replace the cam...may as well get a mild cam and a tune if it's gonna be apart.

FYI, these are pushrod engines, so either the guy has to take a fender off or drop the engine to get the cam out.

I was going to say the same thing about the lifter and cam. Those were some of the symptoms my car had for a few miles before the came snapped and everything in the motor was trashed. That sucks man. At the cost of fixing it, you might be better off finding a turn key motor and swapping that in.

He already has the engine all apart from checking everything out so I'm just going ahead and having it all fixed.

No just having it fixed since he already did part of the work looking for the problem that I'd have to pay for anyways. Thank you though. If I was going to do an engine swap I'd take it to MMS and do a 3500 swap. But I need my car ASAP and like I said the engine is already all apart.

Well as some of you know I had to swap my engine this week. I decided to just go with the 3400 since it was already at my mechanics house and all torn apart and that was all he was willing to swap in. Well after being away from my car for over a week it is finally back home

and with the a working engine!!

He showed me the damage on the lifter and cam and I was quite shocked at how trashed the lifter was.

Here is my old engine as well

I now have an extra UIM, LIM, and valve covers that I am trying to figure out what I want to do with. May powder coat or paint them and then sell them but I don't know who would want them or how much I could get for them.
