Higher Wattage headlight Bulbs >>>

I was at a local speed shop today, and I was talking to one of the guys there. I told him that I wanted to get some super white lights. He suggested that I upgrade to the "Galaxy White" Catz. They're like $70, I don't know if they're worth it. Also, he said that it's a 9007 bulb and produces 120/130watts, but won't fry my wiring harness, I don't know how this could be. I did notice that on the package it says 9007HB5 12v65/55w > 130/120w 4300k

If anyone could tell me if these are ok to upgrade to that would be great. Also, if anyone has used these, how are they, and how do they look at night?

That kind of designation on a package means this..

first of all x/y = high beam / low beam wattage

They are saying that their bulb draws 65watts/55watts but puts out as much power as a 130watt/120watt would.

I just went through the entire forum last night for headlight pics, and noone has had these before and posted about it. Go ask them if they can lite one up for you in a housing to see how they look, they should be able to do that for you... Also there are about 79 other headlight threads if you still need more info than ask.

Hey let us know if you get them and post up some pics and let seth know so he can add them...

I've heard good things about the Catz Galaxy White bulbs, the 4300K is a nice white look and I've heard that (unlike other bulbs) they light up the road extremely well...which would be a plus in both reguards when combined with the H3 bulbs for the blazers.

I was thinking about getting them, but the price, I just can't be putting out the money for them right now.

I actually ended up picking up the Galaxy Whites ton>>

They're REALLY nice. I had some High Intensity white bulbs before it, cheap ones - i'm guessin they were like the autozone specials. They didn't light up the road well at all. Well, today, I decided I was going to upgrade those. So, I originally was going to go with the Silver Stars, but the guy at the speed shop recommended the CATZ, he said they were much better. I have to agree, they're nice! It's a SUPER white light, and has a tint of blue, I haven't seen them while someone was driving at me, so I don't know how they really look that way. Anyways, they light up the road great. I really like the look of them. I will try and get some pics up soon so you can see them....

So, ive got some nokya's. The say on them :

55/65 Stock ----------> 80/100 Nokya

Wouldnt that be their draw? Or Seth are you saying that they claim that its output = that of a 100 watt bulb, while drawing 55 watts?

I never installed my Nokya's, since they are apparently higher wattage. I dont know if they draw more watts, or if they advertise their output as higher watts. I emailed the place i got them from to ask.

RBA007, the nokya's ARE a higher wattage...not a lie, like most bulb companies....so watch out. I bought a set one time, and never installed em cuz of the higher wattage..

Ecap, get some pictures of the headlights, as well as some pictures of how they look on the road (stand next to the car and take a picture facing forward).

I definitely would like some nice white headlights that light up the road...typically you can only get one or the other....or HID.

Thanks!
