Thinking about HP Tuners for the GA. Anyone with experience, right this way...

All i want to do for now is 93 Octane tune, play with spark timing. sounds easy right?
well i had trouble trying to "root" my smart phone...

so i'd like as much info before i play brain surgeon with my grand am.

do i just buy the $500 thing and away i go?
are there other things i need to purchase too?
it just plugs into obd2's port and a laptop and i start reading, then turn car off, edit, flash, restart car with +20hp???

You saw wrong.

Nothing wrong with HPT... I just don't have any experience with it myself, and I know it's a little different from DHP.

I have hp tuners and have done quite a bit of tuning to my car. Yes you buy the tuner and install program to computer. Dont forget to become a member on hpt.com

Also.... they are really unhelpful if you dont post your "logs" and **** so they can look at it. Its like oh I have a small issue and ask a simple question that usually wouldnt need to see a log file and they just dont fkin help. Lol. Ive been to that site twice. Lots of good info there... but they dont help you for ****. Atleast not me.

But only other thing is you need 100 bucks to credit your car. Get hpt pro. It should come with 8 free credits on it. It takes 2 credits to validate a car (50$ a pop)
