I'm sure he was genuinely clueless, so it wasn't a joke.

Idk. I think its alot of black. Not enough red. And the amber reflector looks out of place... I think if you could have got a clear reflector I might like it better. But I know they arent easy to come by. Not trashin on em, props on doing the retro. I just dont 100% like how they turned out appearance wise.

Maybe they will grow on me. Maybe not. Idk.

when i said i was re doing some wires, i should have said ALL of them.
G8's have the battery in the trunk, and a big power wire going to the alternator running right through the middle of the passenger compartment. runs parallel to a factory wire harness for several feet, and i've got horrible alternator whine when my amps are on. also, i'm an LED whore, so here's a chance to add more, and redo the wires on the first ones the right way.

i'm willing to try (almost) anything once. it was a late night, and i was angry with the stock rubber cover. apparently i have ashy elbows b/c whenever i looked at it there were spots. couldn't handle that. the vinyl wrap won't be staying on either. prolly black micro suede.

To be honest, it looked off to me as well when I first put them in, but grew on me pretty fast. I'm sure its because I was so not used to my car having projectors so it looked "different" to me. Not to mention the picture really doesn't make it look as nice as it does in person. Pictures show too much of the reflections that are coming off the lens then seeing the actual housing.

I don't see how having a clear corner would make it look any better. People know me, clear corners to me are overplayed, not to mention illegal in some states. And the only thing that I added onto the housing to be black was the reflector bowl.

I could of done a black shroud but EVERYONE and there mother does all black retros. Everytime I was test fitting and seeing the shroud I kept telling myself I wanted it red because I wanted it to look custom and pop, not blend in and look "OEM" or all black.

And in the end it really doesn't matter seeing as they're about performance and with the insane distance on the high beam and low beam they have I could care less if anyone dislikes the looks tbh.

Camera doesn't even do justice for the distance on here. Keep in mind that I think I need to aim the left up just a smidge and maybe the right.

Here's high beam, notice the tree and sign getting lit up. Again probably need to get on a completely dark road for the camera to pick it up better.

Everyone has their opinions. I won't bother stating mine, however, I envy you having a legit retrofit. Our headlights suck.

Honestly I wonder how it would look "vette style"

You know, How there headlights are body match painted with projectors. So an all red housing and black shroud? Wont know till you saw if it would look good though.

But glad its finished. Looks nice performance wise.

Why because ur opinion is the same as what's being posted?

Just for peoples clarification it's the shroud painted. Not the projector.

If you all think mine looks odd then u shouldn't visit hidplanet. I didn't want a plain looking chrome OEM one, nor a dime a dozen all black.

Yeah it just looks odd. And I agree with the chrome, I wouldn't leave it chrome either. Now black on the other hand....
