Hard to get a reflection with metallic paint and when there's nothing around, but here's my bike tank after a round of 105, 205, and Collinite 845:

Well I worked on compounding and polishing my hood today and I am a little disappointed with how it turned out, I need some stronger compound than the Ultimate that I am using (I need M105). Still got a good reflection off of it though and It will do until I get the good stuff.

PC-7424XP with foam yellow cutting pad. I only got the light swirls out. The medium to heavy swirls are still there.

What cutting power does that pad have? If it's a polish pad you won't get heavier scratches out even with 105.

It is the highest foam cutting pad. To get more cutting power out of a pad the switch to wool cutting pad would be needed.

Need some pics with light to see how well it did to begin with.

it looks pretty good to me!
a wool pad is for some serious work dude. i've used m105 and yellow pads to erase wet sanding marks!

are you pressing in on the buffer hard? supposed to apply 15-20 pounds of constant pressure while it works it's magic. AND move it slowly. don't let it sit in one spot, but barely let it creep along!

i've seen ultimate compound do amazing jobs, like the first paint correction ever on my gagt when it was 13 years old. and i've also seen m105 fail to knock the scrathches out of my g8's hood

Some stuff is deep enough where you'll do damage trying to get it out, or you just won't have clear coat left :\

I took that shot just to show off reflection. It doesn't show the defects at all. It's pretty bad still plus it left a bunch of weird dots in the clear coat. I dont know I'm just disappointed. I'll post pictures in my detailing forum showing the problems.
