Question about steering wheel adapters!

Im wanting to order a billet specialties steering wheel for my car, but I dont know if the adapter will work. It says for non air bag cars.... which obviously I would be eliminating the air bag, but would this adapter bolt to my column? Does any one of you knowledgeable fellas have any idea? Heres the link...http://www.billetspecialties.com/ste.../#tab-features

It will probably work. You could always call them and ask though.

GM used the same size steering wheel splines on a lot of cars for those years, from Cavaliers to Corvettes, and a lot of the aftermarket steering wheels use the same bolt pattern for attachment. The momo adapter I have... it had the same part number listed for just about every GM application iirc, and people use it for both momo and sparco steering wheels. I'm using it with a sparco one myself.

Ok.... I asked them and they just said if the vehicle came with an airbag it won't fit. I'm wondering if that's for legal reasons, basically not wanting to encourage the elimination of a safety devise....

Yeah, I'm sure they are just telling you not to eliminate the air bag for legal reasons. Although there is no legal requirement for you to keep the airbag in your own car. The only thing necessary to know whether it will fit or not is if it fits the same steering shaft splines as the momo adapter. Since it says it fits all GM 96-03 "non-airbag", and no GM cars from that time came without air bags, I'm betting it will fit. You can always buy one and trying it, and if it doesn't work send it back.

You make a good point. I think that's just what Ill do, make the order and hope it fits. I was at Good-guys yesterday and they had the wheel I wanted in their booth. Should have done it, but wasn't sure about the fit.
Thanks Aaron
