god looking at it now i really got to take those dealer trim things off my plates. and the more i look at the grill i'm gonna look for one from the 2.5 cars as i thing it would look better without the H6 3.0 emblem that subaru molded into the grill so i can't remove it.

Well the new calipers and the back up camera look pretty bad ass anyway. I can def believe how dirty the front seat was too. Sitting in them all the time in that FL heat sweating away...

Mine used to get like that and they are gray so you can't even really see it, but when I'd go over them really well with some vinyl cleaner the paper towels would come away very dirty.

so wut. i'm a r1cer now bruh.. yolo#

i got the idea from another G8 guy. trust me, i had the EXACT SAME response as you!!! everyone else says that too!
but apparently it holds up well with the heat. that guy's calipers have held up for several months since i first saw them.

but i'm not putting up with the agony of delicately cleaning plasti-dipped calipers.
in a month or so, i will park the car, send the calipers off for powder coating. but it's nice to have the plastidip on there to test how i like the wild color.

stock G8-gt pads versus 6 pot brembo "v2" ctsv

and sleepy, i just want to warn errbody about the hps pads being dusty as fock!
example: washed the car friday afternoon. by saturday morning, the rims were dusty enough to wipe your finger on and write on the spokes. only 30 miles....

i've got hawk ceramics i will probably dd, then swap to HPS when i want to autocross or dragstrip.

Yeah, was gonna say... they'll probably hold up ok in short term for normal use, but not for long term or extreme conditions. I'll bet no one has plasti-dipped them and then exposed them to the kind of heat they'd see during track use. Way higher temps than you'd get daily driving.

But like you said, just the fact of them being a PITA to clean/keep clean would be enough reason to do something more permanent. Either powder coating, or at least some G2 caliper paint.

Same here. Did mine and I haven't had any chipping issues or anything. Been a solid year and a half now.

I never liked duplicolor paint. Just dont like it personally. Lol

Aside from that, mac I know what it feels like I had hawk hps (I believe) pads with my baer kit. My old black wheels would turn purple in two days.

Now I have brembo semi metallic pads. I may have to buy 2 more sets before they sell out...

thank you. it's the stock radio head unit. the pontiacs have the ability to have a video input from the factory, but as soon as the car goes 3 miles per hour, the screen goes blank for safety reasons.... the australians have had a "video in motion" solution for years, while we were left in the dark.
but a florida g8 car club member has figured out how to trick the computer. now the screen will still play your video input up to 150 mph!
the actual reverse camera, got on ebay about $17. it's like my rearview mirror now. i just leave it on all the time

the calipers were originally powder coated yellow from the factory, and they cleaned up so easily! so i'm going to powder coat them, rather than paint.

HPS is "ferro-carbon" which sounds semi-metallic to me.... get some hawk PC ceramic pads, they didn't make any dust at all by comparison

Looking at corbeau A4s and looking at seat brackets they have some for the 86-94 grand am, 95-97 grand am but not the 99-05? Are the seats in the 95-97 same style as the 99-05? It's weird since they don't have the newer grand prixs or bonnevilles either

Hit a junkyard and measure. Either way I expect it to not be a direct bolt in application. Im sure some modification will be necessary.

the seats in the 95-98 grand am might iirc be bolt down style in the front where as the 99-05 GA has a type of claw hook mount in the front. you have to tilt the seat towards the windshield to lift it out.

Brendan's job really sounds way too similar to my old job...except he actually makes a nice paycheck and doesn't have employers that are privileged jerk offs.
