Duster=no, that'll just create micro swirls over time. Rinse your car off with a good stream of water.

But then again your car is kept in a garage and isn't exposed to typical outdoor dust accumulation overnight.

Yeah, wasn't trying to be a **** with the whole garage thing. But when I had my car overnight in a garage at my grandparents it got just VERY light dust on it which I could see a duster being used but I still think it would create tiny swirls, not immediately but well over time.

Then if your car sits outside the layer of dust IMO is too much for a duster. But then again there will be those random nights where it won't be that dusty as it usually is.

Yeah I only use a duster when there is very light and I mean a LIGHT coat of dust. Now if my car is brown colored from a heavy coat. Yeah time for a car wash. Lol

I have both and I use them quite frequently, the California Duster works damn good... Basically everything I order from AutoGeek gets the job done, my car cover scratches my car and it's not supposed to.

I've heard any of those dusters when used dry will cause damage.

I just read a bunch of guys on autogeek forum and a vette forum who use the california one and all said follow the instructions and use light pressure and no one has had an issue with them causing scratches. They dont use them in heavy dust cases only light. If you use it right you will be okay. But others will say its bad for the car too. Me I just got myself a really nice one about a month ago. Works fantastic.

And my car cover doesnt scratch the car. I always make sure the car is spotless and dust free before putting the cover on. And clean it every 1-2weeks (wash and dry) to keep dust build up out of it so it doesnt scratch the car. As lomg as the car is clean when you put the cover on (dirt and dust free!) You should have no issues.... depending on what your cover is made out of.

Anyways, my California duster works great! I wouldn't trade it for anything! I just make light quick swipes just like Nate said and then I shake it out before making another swipe and all is good! The Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detailer with a microfiber cloth with a little bit of wax built up on it works good too... I know it's important to keep your microfiber clean but that's one of the reasons I hate washing them, you lose the wax residue that builds up.

Some people use a leaf blower to dry the car off. I mean as far as the other thing as far as its just dusty I could see the washing it with a hose and then blowing it off working..

Unfortunately I do not have them yet. He's busy still. He's been making billet trophies for big shows, he just made one the truckin magazine show. He keeps telling me there on his to do list.... But he does everything on the side so his "real" job comes first.

Dustin you really should look into a set of hood struts. I have them on my car and you can hold the hood half open like in your pic. I think that would look waaayyy cleaner than having that metal bar holding it open
