I been wanting to do the same thing, but I feel that if I plastic dip the chrome trim, it will eventually peel off, due to constant washing. I'm thinking in maybe spraying some tint spray that they use for the tail lights, but then I'm not sure if it'll work...

Use real paint if you are going to do it. No tint sht or plasti dip.

Flat black, matte black, or gloss black.

You're right - it peels after about 6-7 months. I spray painted mine gloss black.

Just random reading is that I figure he got tired of the security light and battery dieing or something along those lines and eventually wanted to part it out.

Saw many posts on GAOC of him having problems with the security light and battery.

i don't do that side of the GA community anymore so..

if i had an engine hoist mine would probably be gone too..probably won't get shit for my cam and 3500 top end since people who own GA's are cheap and want everything for nothing but i can't fathom scrapping it with those parts still in it.

Depends how much you would want for the motor.

Yea. I never got on this side of the tracks too much. PassLock was the main issue. The battery jus died from sitting so long. But its a new battery, after sitting on the charger/tender for a couple weeks, it now sits in the next project, where it happily cranks an old school 302.

Beyond PassLock, tranny was going, instrument cluster didnt work, and many other things. So i jus ended stripper her out and parting it out. Sold off what i could, made a pile of parts that i think someone might need, and another pile of stuff i will try and use in the next project. After waiting this long, the privious owner of the new project was asking if he could drop that off over the weekend. So i made a date with the local salvage yard.

I'm the same way. Hard trying to sell custom performance parts. No one wants to spend the money that you did, and want to lowball the hell out of ya. My JBP head and cams are sitting in a box in the garage.

motors got around 10k on it. i've had it since i got it with 300 miles on it. one of the reasons why i got the motor to begin with was it only had 300 miles on it. paint wasn't even worn off the water pump.

bought the LIM directly from WOT-TECH and the heads were bought from another member but lightly ported by them too.

That's why modding cars like this is so dangerous. You never get your money back for parts, ESPECIALLY for cars like this that aren't performance based and have died off.

Oh yea. But when the kit, new, is listed for more like 4k, and they wanna offer you 400 for it...... wow.

Must people buy performance stuff to use it so when you try to sell it used everyone thinks it's been accused thus the perceived lack of value.... it makes it hard to sell parts but it also depends how you see the value of what you'reseeking.... if you're realistic you'll get a decent return when you sell it....
