most of the ones i take of my car in the garage don't look bad on my phone and computer but once uploaded and posted they look like crap.

He says put straight pipes on it. That in my eyes is not the right way to go, because if I were to actually do something to the exhaust, I would get a borla or something nice. Not straight pipes.

What do you guys think?
straight pipes are friggin annoying and sound like shit on these cars. trust me been there done that. i've ran with the cutout open for awhile and without a muffler it sounds like crap.

your cousin is a moron. find a crossflow borla muffler if you want quiet and a little more openness than the stock muffler provides.

Just get stock GT. Sounds fine. Straight pipes are just retarded unless you have something with muscle. I wouldn't put the money into the magnaflow or borla unless its dirt cheap. But thats just me.

I already have a GT muffler - and I agree that straight pipes sound stupid.

I'm about quality - not stupidity

No reason to get the GT exhaust unless you just want dual quad tips. It provides no sound at all. Borla , well you get what you paid for. I think it was worth every $762 I spent on it. I love the exhaust and on highway trips it has no drone.

Plus its Borla, can't go wrong with Borla. Or you can go the cheap, custom, aftermarket route and have the exhaust rust out from under the car.

Borla is nice, its just very quiet for a borla system.

Everytime i hear borla, it makes me think loud. Which in most cases, it is.

Stock GT had a good enough ruble for me when I had one. Not a chance I would pay that .

You are killing me. What Borla on a 60v6 have you heard? You must love your ears being f***ed by sound waves if you don't think the Borla is loud enough with our engines.

Don't worry I think the same sht every time when I see him saying it's too quiet. It's just not as obnoxiously loud as his exhaust is so he's used to blaring loud sounds.

My friend actually says the same thing but one, his car has headers/DP, intake so of course his will be a little louder then mine but what mine has is no rasp or drone nor does it sound farty at high or low RPM. Two, I always tell him duh because you never hear my car when exhaust is actually warmed up driving down the road, you only hear the cold roll off and idleing. And after being driven hard the exhaust is even louder at idle/take off. I guess every car is different because mfuller claims the TOG headers made the Borla quieter.

Going to his place I started it up before we left and he said wow I can actually hear your exhaust, I'm like yeah because its actually warmed up.

LAST thing I want is my car to be "louder then it looks." Like the term loud cars are fast. When a normal DD that isn't fast and/or not heavily modified under the hood is obnoxiously loud it just doesn't fit the picture.

You must have the ears of a dog. Of course it has a very quiet rumble when you're standing right in the rear of the car kneeled down, but in the cabin you hear nothing but engine.

Saying no to spending good money on a Borla exhaust is like saying no to a blowjob

Both mfuller's car and metallman's car both have borla, with headers. Its not loud enough.

Im not going to buy an exhaust to be quiet. I like how mine sounds, it gets compliments, you have never seen my car run against another, so you dont know how fast she really is. (To tanner)

I had metal start his car in person and rev it, i was like... Whats the big hype? It really was quiet. My car is quiet at idle and pretty mellow at normal speeds. But foot to the floor it screams. Thats what i like, i can control how loud the car can be by just the gas pedal. Metals car wasnt that loud at all, even at 4k rev. Mfullers too. But hey we all have different taste in exhaust. Why get so frustrated when someone doesnt like something that others do?

No one is getting frustrated here.

Doesn't change that your ears are still mentally used to your loud exhaust so others seem quit to you.

Back when i heard borla i believe my car still had pacesetter muffler/exhaust. With headers. That was pretty quiet. Id say around as quiet as borla, really.

I mean, all it is now is headers, no cat, 2.5" piping, flowmaster 80, quad tips.

I'm actually happy with my GT exhaust.

And if it were up to me, I would buy a decent exhaust system. But as much as I want to, I can't afford it. If I had the money, yes I would probably buy it. But I simply don't have 7 hundred to spend.

For all of yall who say a gt exhaust doesn't make any difference on. A SE, well yall wrong, I've been tru 3 different exhaust systems, first my stock SE, then swapped in a GT exhaust and there sure is a difference in sound, not noticeble, but it does sound a bit better, then I I got bored of it and wanted something louder, went with Y pipe> 2 MagnaFlow mufflers, and it kinda gave it an import sound, I wasn't pleased so after that I changed my setup to a crossover Flowmaster with 2.5 downpipe and 2.5 cat back with he cat, and Love the sound.

@ERICK: and I know bro I have the Pontiac center caps I just haven't gotten around to put them on
