Goes to the Ac line... Momentary lapse of consciousness.
Ordered a external trans cooler today. Goes into the shop to get tuned on tuesday.
They are only going to re-map the fuel tables and shiz so it will run.
I will begin break-in after that and the trans shop wants to make shure everything is alight.
They modified one of the torque converter lock-up solenoids. Instead of a gradual TC lockup (10% gradual to 100%) the made it like an on-off solenoid.
Should be a fun car to dive fellas! The time is coming!!!!

The Car is running!!
Something is up with my starter, it stays engaged, I have to start it then pull the stater relay.
The alternator isnt charging the battery. Im going to hook my 4ga wire from Alt to +Batt for my stereo. should fix that problem.
I have a bad miss on cylinder 6. Im getting spark. I have to confirm compression and fuel...
Im going to pull the front valve cover to confirm that cam didnt push one of the rockers out of its threads. ( I heli-coiled all the rocker threads on the back head)
Going to work on it now.

I believe im misfiring on cyl 3 and 6. I thought I may have put injector plug 3on6 and 6on3 but i just swapped them... still missing.
The header is cold after 10 seconds of running on both cylinders. I am getting spark. I imagine it has something to do with fuel.
when i take the jumper wire(which i have always had) from the alt to batt+ it makes the stater motor spin... not engage. just freespin...
Anybody want to help me out with maybe a rudimentary drawing of the wiring too that biii??

moved injectors around and the miss follows the injector..
Got the stater issue figured out. Hooked up my wideband and im running at 10 flat to 10.5
super rich. I imagine the shop couldnt finish the base tune, due to the car running on 4 cylinders.
Simple problems... all and all im very happy so far!

Sounds like the starter solenoid wasn't engaging. That's what moves the starter gear over to actually engage the flywheel.

What size injectors you running, and is the PCM tuned for them yet? If they are stock/old injectors you could have one or more stuck open. If they are large injectors running on a stock program, they will run super rich until you get the injector table set properly.

Im using the 36# injectors. I had the Dyno shop tune the computer for the injectors. the loaded the file on and started it. It was missing really bad (cylinder 5,6) I think from sitting for 4 months some moisture got into them and locked them up. I'm going to try to crack them loose. Maybe some high voltage will do the trick
They said bring it back when you figure out the misses. I swapped injector 2 and 5. it is following the injector.
Im glad the problem is this simple. There could have been so many other problems.. (knock on wood)
Ill keep you updated.
I still need an alignment and I need the tranny shop to check over the trans when it is running ok. Smog, inspection and dyno tune.
Im on the downhill side of this!

he's probably gonna need some time for break-in and tuning before that happens. You don't just take a brand new engine and go beat on it at the track and dyno.

Don't rush him. I'd rather see him take his time tuning it so he can get the most out of it (and not blow it up). A lot of new engines can take quite a few miles to "loosen up" as well before they work the best and make the most power. You should figure on at least two more oil changes after the first oil change (after break in).

In fact, eerily similar to mine.
I love the additional torque that comes with higher compression.

Im super happy I can drive it again.
I had gotten so used to driving my 97 Grand cherokee..
Mostly I missed my stereo!! 141 dB from one 12" Kicker.
Im running anywhere from 14.5 to 16 on my AFR. I have a small leak where the front bank and rear bank of headers meet So I dont know if that is reading super accurate.
I have been way easy on it just driving around. I have put 500 miles on it. im going to drain the conventional oil out soon and get some full syn in there.
The TC drives like stock. When I am cruising around, it is 'hunting' for lock-up. it jumps from 1400 rpm to 1800 at around 40 mph, steady throttle.
The PMW TC lock-up solenoid was modified to 'on-off'
I had the owner of the trans shop drive it, he said the computer is thinking the system is stock.
He is going to head to the the tuner shop on tuesday and assist them with the trans tune.
Ill keep more videos coming..
The hard part is done.
