The only thing keeping my town alive is the grocery store, school, gas station, and law office. (Yes the law office keeps surprisingly busy)

this morning my car was having issues, all at once the battery light came on along with powersteering not working etc, so I pulled over right away and popped the hood. The serp belt was destroyed and the idler pulley was broken and the belt tensioner was messed up. Well I just got done replacing all the parts and my car idles a lot quieter now. I also replaced the oil pressue hose because it was leaking. Today has been a repair day.

I need to either have a reason to say why not all old cars are crap, or I need a lots of several new(er) cars to pick from. Here is a list of cars I really like.

Pontiac bonneville
Pontiac Grand Prix gtp (coupe or sedan) (not 2004 and above)
Pontiac g5 gt
Pontiac g6 gt (2009.5)
Pontiac g8
Chevy impala (2000-2014)

Those are the ones I like. If you want please add cars that you like to the list. Thanks
If you have to go just as new or newer you would be looking at sedans for the w-Bodies (except Monte Carlo). 2002 was the last year for the coupe on the Grand Prix. Check insurance on those cars too, young kid with anything that is kind of sporty will be costly. The impala is the best bet really, they crash well, easy to work on and it will be a sedan. You could go G5 or G6 but I would just keep the Grand Am at that point. The G8 will be fun but don't waste your time the V-6, in addition you guys get some snow/ice there and in that case the G-8 would be aweful without snow tires and weight in the trunk.

Are you paying for this new car then? i am just curious since you haven't had the Grand Am that long have you?

$200 is getting off light. The scratch really sucks though. That won't be cheap to repair. Doesn't look like that will buff out.
