Ive drove cars without both, imo TC and abs is pointless. You can easily control a car without both features if you know how.

If you can maintain your composure in panic situations you'd be fine without abs.. however if you panic at all you'll lock up and be screwed before you realise what's going on...

I took an advanced winter driving course years ago (after my 5th ditch trip!) And they gave us cars to drive with abd turned off and we did a bunch of simulations then repeated those same situations with the abs engaged.... big differences between the 2 but with proper knowledge you can drive either

Sleepy has never driven a car with good ABS and TC either. The systems in the Grand Am aren't that advanced, but they do work, well enough at least for inexperienced/poor drivers. The systems in more modern cars though are capable of controlling situations that NO driver no matter how good they are can do. A driver can't brake individual wheels to control the cars attitude.

I can vouch that the new Camaro's ABS is garbage. I wonder if it can be turned off.

TC is for people that have no clue..

the only TC my subaru has is my right foot. it has ABS but there is no form of traction control what so ever on my current car or the two subaru's i had before this..

Ive driven alot of cars new and old because i work at an autoshop as a mechanic. And get to test drive alot of different cars, i have yet to drive a car where the TC really impresses me. But personally, i like not having traction control, makes things alot more fun. I mean if im gonna spin let it spin, dont bog the car down. I mean my car likes to spin tires, yes its better to hook then spin, but spinning tires (especially on dry pavement) from a dead stop can be quite fun at times.

the traction control is the vette lets you get sideways, but wont let you kill yourself, which is nice. the genesis, however, was a completely different animal and was more annoying than any other feature on any other car ive driven. if it sensed any amount of spin it would cut boost and throttle, and i thought it was quite dangerous to be honest

Bored as sht as nothing new is happening to the car.

Very crappy microsoft paint but was trying to get an idea of how my car would look spoilerless. Would be nice to find a spoilerless trunk in bright red.

Remember - I don't drive a modded car. It's just a pretty much stock grand am. I would like to keep my tires.

The reason I ask that was because my dad heard about me slipping on the ice and called it "car abuse". So it had just rained the night before and then it froze. I was turning off the gravel and onto the pavement, and I noticed sluggish acceleration. After about 5 seconds I looked at the speedo and it was at 65+ and still going. I let of the gas and the speedo dropped to 5 or 10. Since I was listening to music, I couldn't hear anything, or feel anything (since it was smooth ice and not anything that would vibrate the car). And I said to my dad that I didn't know because I didn't have tc to slow it even a little.

took some pics of benz other day... body kinda rough but it drives and has heat

then I wish every car had this as an option... the hood opens regular, but then on each hinge there is this latch that when pulled the hood goes straight up and gives full access to engine bay without hitting your head on hood

then dam you can't miss with filling this wiper fluid bottle...
