First of the few mods that will be done to it once I get my plates and pay the sales tax is chopping the tail and getting SpeedyMoto sliders. Exhaust will be last seeing as exhausts for Ducati's cost 5 times more then for a jap bike but hey, I knew that going into buying a Ducati. Stock is really loud nonetheless for stock, especially when compared to stock jap bikes that sound like mopeds.
![]() ![]() Cleaned her up, wheels, polished the exhaust(which is a damn maze). Also took the stickers off the trellis frame, common "mod" people do since it cleans it up. Some say its illegal others say they've had no problems with selling the bike or getting it registered with them but nonetheless I did what everyone else did which was stick them on the frame under the seat. Took one sticker off the left side already, total of 4 stickers on the left side and 1 on the right. ![]() [![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

got some center caps for it.. factory center caps are impossible to find and people don't want to let go of the extra ones they have so i got some billet ones from mrz. on the last pic i'm trying out mudflap extensions with some rubber i got from work. might make them longer

Few more things and it will be ready to drive. Looking to finish tomorrow.
New sway bar, new sway bar brackets, bushings, and end links installed today, hub installed, lower control arm and knuckle also installed, replaced air filter. Tomorrows task - inner tie rod, outer tie rod, oil change, serpentine belt, put strut back on, put axle into wheel bearing, put the brake/rotor back on. Hit the junk yard tomorrow as well for a new wheel since the driver side one is trashed from the accident. If i can find two with good tires, ill get 2 wheels so i dont have to bother with buying 2 new tires for the front. Rears are at 75% tread life at least, fronts are bald and driver front got shredded. Looking forward to having this finished. I also bought valve cover gaskets and an oil pan gasket. It leaks oil, so i may do valve covers tomorrowif i have time, but the oil pan will wait for another time since thats a little bigger task. Id also like to do plugs/wires too, but that probably wont be for a couple months. Runs fine right now with what its got. So not to eager to do it, but soon i will be doing that as well. And i thought of a name for the car. I decided to name it "cheap whore" ![]()

honestly sleepy check the junk yards out for tires. sometimes you get these fools that junk a car with new/decent tires.
i had good luck with that years ago when i went to upstate new york. popped a tire and found a new one at a local yard. still had the little nubs on it. |

Looks pretty sweet man! I think the mud flap extensions are probably just the right length. I mean, they don't need to be down to the ground right? Just low enough to keep from spitting stuff on the cars behind. ![]()

figured i'd try them on the back first since it's easier to do the riveting. my main reason for the fronts is to keep the snow build up off the rockers.

I know. It sucks.
On the bright side, I picked up some MAF cleaner. I sprayed some in there, and it somewhat fixed it. It used to idle around 400 RPM and be very twitchy. Now it idles around its normal 900-1000 RPM, except it is still twitchy. The engine light is/has been on for a while now, but maybe it will go off after a few drives with the cleaned sensor. I have also decided to switch out my CAI back to my stocker. Just to be safe. Still shifts funny, but oh well. My savings for a different car (GP GTP or Bonnie SSEI or SLE) are already up to $9xx dollars. Add that to the trade of mine and I will have enough to buy it. Hopefully the 3800 is a slight bit more reliable, because I really love mine to death, but I just can't have all these problems.

you should really do some research on the car you want.. the sensors are pretty much the same between the 3400 and 3800. they may look different but physically but.
try the map sensor. i had idle issues when mine went south. why don't you read the code for the engine light to find out what it is. autozone can do that for you if you don't have a reader. sounds like a lot of your problems are not knowing what you are doing with cars.. buying another car probably won't solve your problem..i mean honestly what do you think they are going to give you for a 12yr old pontiac. i hope you aren't expecting much. |

I will take the car to my local shop and hopefully not have them charge me more that $75 for it. yeah, they seem to charge quite a bit for even small things. Thanks for the info though!
