The early 2000's electronic controlled HVAC system can quickly turn into a 5 ALARM FBOMB SLINGING NIGHTMARE dude. That was the Digital 1.0 version, and it was clunky at best. They would do all kinds of failures, no blow, no cold, wrong side doing the wrong thing, all cold or hot (it'll just match the outside temp) whenever it feels like it.

Oh yea, for the lack of fixing knowledge you have, I'll ask "are you ready to remove the dashboard?" because you will need to do it to clearance the electronics on the blend box/heater core.

I did a fair amount of bonney research, and found out they were a breeding ground for innovation, as in they were the guinnea pig of new tech. so they're more trouble than they're worth now, as they're aging out and the new cool trinkets are now liabilities of failure.

I like the way they look and the supercharged 3800 was not a slouch, but I would rather go lease a new KIA than buy one of those nowdays. *BTW we had a Sorento, that at 2 years old had RUST in the rear door frame*
