No way, the fact it's a WS6 and it's as clean as it is I would keep that thing forever.

Oh I don't plan on trading at all. Just what route I want to take repair wise. I've heard so many people idolize a black ws6. It's a pain in my ass. But I love her

Hell if I found a Black WS6 of any year 98 or newer for a good price I would scoop it up in a heart beat. Either Black or Navy Blue Metallic.

I'm on the look out for another fbody, ideally a barn find. There have been a lot of people on the forums finding neglected cars that have been sitting and getting them dirt cheap. There has to be one around here somewhere that I can find for a few hundred!

Oxymoron there. The term 'barn find' has jumped the shark (just like 'rat rod') but value inflation has not tapered off. Suddenly, every rejected piece of thirty+ year old crap is worth a mint. Check pre-A, 356 and 911 P-car finds: totally decrepit examples -- nothing more than a pattern and a title - are selling at 20-40k. E-type basket cases sell for new-Cadillac money. A GSX recently listed -- conveniently prepackaged in assorted cardboard boxes -- for 35k. Even the bathtub-esque Lotus Elan is suddenly worth money. Every crotchety old property owner with a detached garage is now lighting a Pall Mall, popping an MGD and scratching at a six-day stubble while staring at his uncle's 15 years-abandoned project and trying to string together sufficient syllables to make a Craigslist ad.

But it's a classic...and it ran when it was parked. And it has original paint. Under the Rustoleum. And Mecum just sold one for three times the ask, and that one didn't even have T-tops.

You know what I mean by "barn find". Just something that has been parked and forgotten and needs a load of work. Not a classic insane find .

Find a v-6 4th gen, you can grab those for under $3000 with a good body and that is high mileage to swap good stuff into. Even doing a turbo on the L36 cars is pretty damn fun. Unless you are thinking throw $600-800 bucks at an old guy to get the car his son left in his barn out of his way for him?

I've always wanted to find something that was just kind of worn out, replaced and just kind of sat for a while. Nothing that needs a major restoration. Maybe someone that doesn't know what they have or is just willing to get rid of it cheap because they don't know that it only needs a tune up.

Gotcha, I love those deals, when it doesn't run but only needs a $50 part to get it going. That is how I got my riding lawn mower, guy couldn't get it to run for the life of him, even the small engine shop in town couldn't get it to run right. He was to the point of taking it to the scrap yard, so I asked if I could take it from and he said sure, you get frustrated with it. The carb kept flooding after it had been shut until the fuel evaporated out of it. I just put a $3 ball valve in the gas line and I have been using it for 3 years with out trouble. I shut the gas off and turn it off, turn the gas back on before I start it and it fires up great.

Just in case anyone is wondering, I just did a search on Autotrader and there are 33 2000-2002 F-bodies in my 300 mile radius all under $5000 and all with less than 150,000 miles. All v6 cars, half are T-tops and and about 6 convertables and all of them in 7/10 or better cosmetic wise.

2x.

I always liked the T-tops more than the convertibles.
