Thumbs up Saab

I want a Saab. Everyone overlooks Saab. Great handling, great mileage, great performance, great looks, and it has some class and the price isn't as outrageous as it used to be if I am correct.

No, I think about all modern Saabs (93+) look good, especially the latest ones.

How is NOT good looking?

Here's the clentcher. At the auto show yesterday I saw a 2003 GAGT with the MSRP sticker on it for 25,000. You can get into a 9-3 for that. I'd rather have the Saab than the (04) GTP or the GAGT.

Even the base with 175 HP.. I'm down for a 5-speed, turbo and 25,900MSRP. Nothing a little tweaking can't fix for more HP.

I actually thought about selling my GAGT for when the 9-3 Vector comes out. Black looks so damn good. I posted on it and I got so many people jumping down my throat about it that I let the matter drop. I still like them, but I'm too fond of the GAGT, and wouldn't let it go for anything less then a Firebird.

This is probably the only time a Saab and a Grand Am are mentioned in the same sentence. I admit thinking the GAGT is a pretty nice car but... a Saab, exspecially the higher trim level ones, are much nicer in almost every way. A Grand Am is good, and looks sporty, but the Saab looks like rolling class. And the Saab is supposed to be nicer, like comparing apples to, caviar.

Well, my thinking on it is... I'm young and I don't really need the refined car yet, the GAGT is more rough and tumble looking. The new 9-3 is based on the Epsilon platform though, as will be the next GA, so the next GA, assuming it's clean like the new GP's, might be suitable to fend off my Saab desires.

I know, you can never find modifications for turbo powered cars, especially not Saab.

My bad, I thought you were being sarcastic to begin with.

There is indeed alot of aftermarket for Saab. My co-worker that currently drives a Dodge Dakota V8 traded in a 95 Saab for it, you'd be surprised how much aftermarket there is for Saab. I never really got into it because I never had one, but I know from my friend that there is ample aftermerket. He bought a mandrel bent exhaust system for his car in addition to a few other things. Out of curiosity, I might just look to see what I can find.

We have had 3 in the past 97 convertible 96 sunroof and 00 with the sunroof. I know I would take another one in a heartbeat. I think the 00 was called Vegin edition. It was electric blue. It was so fast. All have been man. tranny. The 00' was the fastest one The would run such better 1/4 mile if they had a little more off line power. The 00' could take a vette if you started it at about 45MPH or so. The little 4 cyl would scream (sowing machine scream). I only have prase for the car because I know what it is like to have one for a while. Very nice low maintenance car to have.

Nothing a little tweaking with the turbo couldn't fix.
