They won't take prints for a property damage case.

No way I'm selling this car!

I can't wait to be able to store it in a garage over night. Almost makes me wish I would've traded the truck off for a beater until I was out of college, but where is the fun in that?

That's right. The police don't actually want to protect your rights or solve/stop crimes. They just deal with the consequences, and hand out tickets to generate revenues and pay for their salaries.

Do you really want the amount of revenue generation needed to fund the manpower to pull prints off of a beer bottle someone threw at a car? From the amount of whine in your post, I don't think you do.

I'm not forensic investigator, but shouldn't it only take like 30 minutes tops to pull the print and run it through a computer that matches it with a suspect?

Maybe I watch too much CSI, but if you find out who did it and give them a hefty fine for damages/disorderly conduct, then the state will get their money, I will get my money, and he/she can think twice about property damage next time.

Pulling prints and identifying is a bit more intensive than that. You'll need a forensic investigator or evidence technician to report to a property crime incident along with the preliminary investigator to attempt to pull prints. In this particular case, if they can even get a good pull off of the bottle, you'll need to figure out if the prints on the bottle belong to a suspect and if the evidence is relevant to the case at all. This means you'll need a detective assigned for secondary investigation in order to determine if charges can be filed on a person based on fingerprints on a bottle. The sheer number of property damage incidents in a larger city is astounding and unfortunately, no matter how bad we want to be able to legally bitchslap someone willing to damage someone's car, the amount of resources it takes to go that deep for a misdemeanor charge isn't feasible.

Yeah, they are very limited quantity. Dont think you can even get them anymore. Not to mention the like 1400$ price tag on the kit, that willl take another 8k in fab work (GOOD FAB WORK) to be 100% correct.

Just think, you could have one of those fit properly by now if you quit buying wheels.
